Facebook’s Parent Company Rolls Out Censorship Unit for 2024 Elections

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, recently announced that it is preparing for elections in both the European Union and the United States.

One way it will do so is by setting up an Elections Operations Center that is tasked with identifying “potential threats.” From there,  real-time “mitigation” — a euphemism for censorship — will follow.

Facebook also announced that it will continue using “fact-checkers.”  Such fact-checkers are done to police content while also building an establishment narrative that’s designed to drown out dissenting views. Facebook has even bragged about having “the largest fact-checking network of any platform.”

This is just censorship by another name. The US still has strong free speech protections compared to other Western policies, which are able to abuse free speech at will.

The US is unique in how corporations play an out-sized role in shaping business and even political decisions. The fact is that many of these companies will act as de facto Pinkerton’s for the managerial regime.

It would behoove members of the Right to pick up on this trend and start building legislative proposals to limit Big Tech’s influence. It’s become abundantly clear that Big Tech no longer operates in the American interest.
