FBI Director Christopher Wray Suggests that the FBI Will be Cooperating More With Private Companies

FBI director Wray hints at more collaboration with private companies.

At the World Economic Forum on January 19, 2023, FBI Director Christopher Wray gave a speech about the necessity of the private sector working alongside the federal government.

Throughout his speech, Wray highlighted the FBI’s campaign to work more intimately with the tech sector and called attention to the “significant strides” that have been made in this realm. He also talked about the potential dangers of new technology and the kind of role the government will play in addressing them.

Wray stated, “I think the sophistication of the private sector is improving and, particularly important, the level of collaboration between the private sector and the government, especially the FBI has, I think, made significant strides. Pretty much every technology we could talk about today, we see both great opportunity but great, great dangers in the wrong hands.”

Director Wray made these statements at a time when alternative media journalists were exposing the FBI’s involvement in pressuring social media companies to engage in censorship of online discourse.

Some of the most notable cases included the censorship of information concerning the corruption of the Biden family and Wuhan virus vaccine content.

This controversial form of collusion between the FBI and Big Tech has provoked backlash from Republican elected officials. Many of these Republicans believe that the FBI has been thoroughly politicized and used to target conservatives. As a result, Republicans in the House, which they are currently in control of, are now starting to investigate the FBI for its misbehavior.

This is long overdue. Republicans should take it a step further by calling for the defunding or the outright abolition of the FBI. Such institutions should not be allowed to operate with impunity.
