Feds Reconsider Jail Sentence for Michael Flynn After New Documents Show How Gov’t ‘Lied’ and ‘Framed’ Him

New evidence has emerged in the federal case against General Mike Flynn, the former Trump national security adviser who was railroaded by the deep state as apart of the Russian collusion probe.

Flynn attorney Sidney Powell filed a 27-page brief on Wednesday regarding “egregious government misconduct” in the case against Flynn, calling for its dismissal “in the interest of justice.” She points to new exculpatory documents that had been previously withheld by the feds as well as the IG report detailing abuses of the FISA secret court system.

Powell lays out evidence in his filing that indicates the feds lied to Flynn, “framed” him, hid evidence that may have helped Flynn, and demonstrated “contempt for the law at every turn” in how they pursued their case against the retired three-star Army general.

The feds are now considering the possibility of letting Flynn off with probation rather than jail time based off of his previous guilty plea, which he is now attempting to withdraw claiming that he was offered a deal in bad faith by prosecutors.

“In truth, I never lied,” Flynn wrote in a his motion to withdraw his guilty plea that was also filed on Wednesday, according to Fox News. “My guilty plea has rankled me throughout this process, and while I allowed myself to succumb to the threats from the government to save my family, I believe I was grossly misled about what really happened.”

Flynn’s lawyer maintains that her client is completely innocent. Powell claims that the “IG Report is replete with exculpatory information that, had it been known to Mr. Flynn, he never would have pled guilty.”

Powell also alleges that Flynn’s previous lawyers worked against her client and “grossly misled” Flynn presumably at the behest of the FBI. This occurred in correlation to the FBI’s “Crossfire Hurricane” operation against President Trump, which used the discredited Steele dossier start the Russian collusion probe that ultimately found nothing.

Former FBI chief James Comey even admitted that how he sent investigators to ensnare an unsuspecting Flynn over the course of the witch hunt. It was “something I probably wouldn’t have done or maybe gotten away with in a more … organized administration,” Comey admitted in 2018.

Powell also believes that revelations within the IG report are a game changer that helps to prove her client’s innocence.

She says that the IG report is “replete with information that is exculpatory to Mr. Flynn and damning of the conduct the FBI used against him. Flynn is one of the four original targeted by Crossfire Hurricane and unmasked by previous administration because of ‘his purported ties to Russia.'”

Powell also alleges that the original “302” report from the initial meeting between the FBI and Flynn, in which FBI agents reportedly said they thought Flynn was being honest during their interview, has been lost or destroyed.

“The government’s suppression of evidence, drove a three-star-military veteran of multiple conflicts to plead to a crime he did not believe he committed. It now raises the foremost intelligence officer of this generation, a combat veteran and war hero, will spend time behind bars. This is not only manifestly unjust, it makes a mockery of Brady [exonerating evidence] and due process,” Powell said in the filing.

Flynn continues to fight for his freedom and his reputation after arguably being the most adversely affected by deep state overreach in the illicit and amoral Russian collusion investigation.
