FLASHBACK: Former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia Once Praised America’s ‘Anglo-Saxon’ Heritage

While Republicans, even supposed Trump supporters, are too cowardly to champion America’s rich heritage these days, former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia proudly praised the nation’s Anglo-Saxon roots before his untimely death.
“Diversity alone is not what makes a great nation. I mean, diversity alone makes some of the tribal societies of the world that never quite make it, such as the places in the Middle East where we are trying to establish nationhood,” Scalia said during a televised panel discussion in 2006.
“As I said earlier, it’s part of our tradition that everybody can be an American but there has been a common culture,” he added.
An interviewer asked Scalia to name specifics and that is when he started praising America’s Anglo-Saxon roots, which at the time was a well-known and celebrated fact among conservatives.
“Let me tell you a story: My junior year in college I studied in Switzerland, and I used to get really annoyed when the French-Swiss professors would refer constantly to…the Anglo-Saxon countries, meaning England, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, ok, Canada,” he said.
“And I said, ‘you know, my name’s Scalia, and I’m as American as anyone! Look at this face, is this an Anglo-Saxon face?’ I had never been to England, but at the end of my year, I went to England and I felt at home,” he added.
Scalia then elaborated with the facts of why American is a nation with an Anglo-Saxon political tradition.
“American common culture, which nobody has to belong to, originates with English culture. That includes Shakespeare, it includes nursery rhymes that we all know and use as examples. That’s our common culture, and I think the framers recognized that,” he said.

Big League Politics reported on how the leftist media flipped out at the news of an “America First” legislative caucus forming in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Left-wing news reporters are freaking out over news of the formation of an America First Caucus in Congress, led by Reps. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), that will maintain Trump’s momentum in the GOP and carry it forward in the legislature…
“We’ve been covering Congress for a long time, and this is some of the most nakedly nativist rhetoric we’ve ever seen,” Punchbowl News said of the America First Caucus.
They pointed to talking points from the Caucus that they are highlighting in order to paint the patriotic endeavor as some kind of nefarious operation.
“America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” one quote states.
“The America First Caucus will work towards an infrastructure that reflects the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture, whereby public infrastructure must be utilitarian as well as stunningly, classically beautiful, befitting a world power and a source of freedom,” the infrastructure plank of the caucus states.
“Our education has worked to actively undermine pride in America’s great history and is actively hostile to the civic and cultural assimilation necessary for a strong nation,” their platform continues.”
Unfortunately it was announced earlier today that the caucus has been disbanded before it could even get started. Score yet another victory for the Democrats and Never Trumpers.
