FLASHBACK: ‘Loser’ Justin Amash Was Rooting For Trump’s Impeachment In 2017
Justin Amash said he trusted disgraced FBI spook James Comey more than the President at the time.

While his opposition to Trump based on the contents of the Mueller report may have come as a shock to some, Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) has actually been plotting to impeach the President for years. This is evidenced from comments he made in 2017, after disgraced FBI spook James Comey was dismissed.
Following Comey’s firing, 15 pages of dubious documents were released publicly in an attempt to shame and embarrass the President.
Comey wrote these memos because he was allegedly so unnerved about Trump’s erratic behavior in the White House. Contents of the memos included Trump allegedly indicating the investigation of former Secretary of Defense Michael Flynn constituted overreach.

“He said that although Flynn ‘hadn’t done anything wrong’ in his call with the Russians (a point he made at least two more times in the conversation), he had to let him go because he misled the Vice President,” Comey wrote in a memo.
According to Comey, Trump allegedly said to him: “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”
Amash indicated that he felt this comment made by Trump meant he should be impeached.
“I think it’s pretty clear I have more confidence in Director Comey,” Amash said, indicating he trusted the disgraced bureaucrat more than the GOP leader.
The allegations reportedly contained in the memo are incredibly serious. Mr. Comey also needs to testify in open session ASAP. https://t.co/OjZIvpRsxm

The Comey memo controversy quickly fizzled out, and Amash missed that opportunity to go after the President. Following the release of the Mueller report – which completely cleared Trump of any Russian collusion – Amash finally realized his long-standing plan to lead the charge for impeachment.
Here are my principal conclusions:
1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
4. Few members of Congress have read the report.— Justin Amash (@justinamash) May 18, 2019
Amash re-hashed the benign revelation from Comey memo in another string of tweets in favor of impeaching the President that he released earlier today.
1. Trump asked the FBI director to stop investigating Michael Flynn, who had been his campaign adviser and national security adviser, and who had already committed a crime by lying to the FBI.

Trump called Amash a “loser” following the Congressman’s push for impeachment, and two conservative primary challengers who have already announced that they will be opposing the ‘Never Trump’ Congressman next year to prove the President’s criticism as correct.
