Foreign Policy Expert: Republicans Must Resist Backslide Into Neocon Globalism After Afghanistan Pullout Disaster

Ron Paul Institute director Daniel McAdams appeared on Big League Politics Live to explain the dangers of Republicans falling back into neoconservatism after the disastrous Biden pull-out from Afghanistan.

Neocons are playing partisan politics and deceiving angry and desperate Republicans, passing the blame to President-imposed Joe Biden, and acting as if the war launched by the Bush adminstraion wasn’t an abject failure from the start. McAdams is urging America First Republicans to resist these dirty tricks.

“It is a virus that is always there and always trying to spread. I mean, if we did not defeat the Taliban in 20 years, we weren’t going to defeat them in 21 years,” McAdams said.

He challenged the notion that it shows “weakness” to the world to leave endless wars that have been obvious failures.

“By fighting a 20-year war with people that don’t have shoes on and losing it, that’s how you signal that you’re weak and can’t control the world empire. Everything we do overseas, we screw up. There is not a single success. The empire is a bunch of blustering, blundering fools,” McAdams explained.

“They can’t do anything right. If anything diminishes our stature in the world, it is our constant running around the world with bombs, with lectures, lecturing everyone, telling them how to live, telling them what religion they should have, telling them whether they should fly the rainbow flag four times a day or three times a day. That is what reduces our stature,” he added.

Big League Politics has reported on how the neocons of the GOP, led by Rep. Dan “McCain 2.0” Crenshaw of Texas, are using the Afghanistan disaster to push for more wars:

Certain Republican leaders, led by Rep. Dan “McCain 2.0” Crenshaw (R-TX), are calling for a re-invasion of Afghanistan because they are so angry with President-imposed Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal.

Crenshaw is saying that billions of more dollars need to be squandered and more troops need to die for no discernable reason in Afghanistan because he’s real angry.

Other Republicans echoed Crenshaw’s calls for more endless war in Afghanistan even after 20 years of fighting in Afghanistan only seemingly strengthened the Taliban’s power throughout the country.

“You are the commander in chief, sir; reverse course and fight for our people. This is likely to get worse, and weakness will accelerate the bloodshed,” said Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE).

“I’d put more military in there, I’d get every single American out and I’d start killing bad guys,” Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) said.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) says that he doesn’t care if many more troops were to die in a re-invasion of Afghanistan. It is a choice he would happily make so he could feel better about his own personal lack of masculinity.”

“They should send Liz Cheney and Crenshaw and [Ben] Shapiro and all those guys back over there if they want to fight it, go ahead. Do it your own way this time! Maybe you’ll have better success,” McAdams quipped.
