Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Believes the West Does Not Want to Talk About Security Guarantees

On May 23, 2023, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev stated that he’s certain the Collective West doesn’t want peace and there’s no nation in the Collective West who could forge a partnership for any peace talks on security guarantees.
During an interview with the RT television channel that there’s still no hope for talks on security guarantees to continue. Medvedev
added, “There’s no one to talk to.”
“They don’t want peace. They want war. They don’t want cooperation. They want confrontation. They are trying in every way to hurt our country,” Medvedev declared.
Medvedev described negotiations on security guarantees with the Collective West a “waste of time” due to the Collective West not being prepared for entering a dialogue with Russia.
“It was a waste of time. The efforts made were in vain. They weren’t ready for dialogue,” the official said, when he was questioned about his attempts to agree with his Western counterparts on security guarantees for Russia when he served as president and prime minister.
The Collective West is not interested in engaging in any negotiations with Russia. Instead it prefers to escalate by imposing sanctions and dumping military aid into Ukraine.
If the West is actually serious about promoting peace and security it would do everything possible to stop escalating tensions in Ukraine and push for a negotiated settlement to the conflict.
Sadly, to achieve that, the West will need a totally different ruling class.
