Fox News Segment Promotes Transgender Children, Parents Justify Abuse: ‘I Would Rather Have a Living Son Than a Dead Daughter’

Remember when everybody told you growing up that Fox News is a “conservative” news organization? Not so fast, champ! A new segment out of Fox aired Friday highlighted a female teenager, likely suffering from gender dysphoria, who believes she is a boy. Fox host Dana Perino introduced the story before it pivoted to correspondent Bryan Llenas, who commended the “courage” it took the girl to share her story, “particularly at a time when transgender issues have been politicized.”

The child in question is named Ryland. Her parents have attempted to raise her as a man starting from when she was a little girl, with records of the abuse existing at least as far back as 2014.

Media outlets covering the story here and here can be seen accepting the premise of this gender ideology, falsely suggesting the young girl is a male repeatedly throughout their coverage.

Fox’s segment proved to be disturbing to those who believe that children should be raised according to how they were born. Those interested in viewing the full video can find it near the bottom of the page.

“If you saw me walking down the street you wouldn’t think anything different,” Ryland, a female whose family has now attempted to raise her as a boy, said at the beginning of the segment.

“14-year-old Ryland Whittington is a typical southern California teenager. And the Whittingtons along with his mom, dad, and sister are a typical family. The only difference in Ryland’s eyes is what this family can mean to the tens of thousands of kids under 18 who identify as transgender,” Llenas reported, introducing his interview with the family.

Comments made by the young child indicated an intent to promote gender dysphoria to children nationwide.

“We put our story out there so people could see like that there is another family out there that is going through what we’re going through or there is another family who is proud of who they are,” Ryland said.

“Before Ryland could speak he managed to tell his parents that he is a boy,” her mother, Hillary, added proudly.

“I could see it. It wasn’t him trying to be a brat. It was like painful. It was painful for him to have to wear feminine clothing and for us constantly telling him that you are a girl,” she explained.

“When he came out at age 5 a few years later he had the full support of his parents. Initially, there was some pushback trying to understand this,” Llenas noted.

The child’s mother then explained her opinion that gender is entirely separate from sex.

“We were confused like most people are. We thought gender and sexuality were the same thing. It took us a while to figure out those two things are different and children actually do recognize their gender identity very young. Some of them, not all,” Hillary continued.

Llenas then described the mother’s encouragement of gender dysphoria as listening to “Ryland and Hillary’s conservative faith.”

“For me, it is just a deep spiritual belief that you believe in God and he created us the way he wanted us and he created Ryland just the way he is,” Hillary said.

“They listened to families. They met in support groups,” Llenas added.

“There was a father sitting across the table saying you have no idea how lucky you are to be here, which kind of took me back. I didn’t consider myself lucky to be there. He said our child had displayed this gender dysphoria or gender misalignment at the same age Ryland has and we didn’t listen and pushed back,” Ryland’s father explained.

Fox’s segment then took a turn for what is arguably a form of gender dysphoria activism, essentially arguing that not affirming a child’s false gender is more than likely to drive them to suicide. This is not at all supported by reality. In fact, the vast majority of so-called ‘transgender’ children end up not wanting to transition after they reach adulthood. Many of them simply end up being homosexual adults.

“That pushback led that child to turn to self-harm as a teenager which 60% of trans and non-binary kids engage in, according to the Trevor Project. More than 50% consider suicide,” noted Llenas.

“That was the turning point. I didn’t want to see Ryland go through that,” explained Ryland’s father Jeff.

Hillary then argued that had she and her husband not assisted in encouraging Ryland’s delusion of being a male he would have undoubtedly been driven to suicide.

“I would rather have a living son than a dead daughter,” argued Hillary. “I guarantee if we had pushed back and done what a lot of parents do, I don’t think we would have either one of the kids that you see before you here today.”

“Allowing him to live authentically and true to himself and be who he feels like he is. When you get to know Ryland, you see how proud and confident he is of himself,” she continued.

Fox News’ Llenas then referenced a Youtube video from 2014 showing the Whittington family raising Ryland as a boy from a very young age before advertising her mother’s book, Raising Ryland. Text posted in the video proudly exclaims, “as soon as Ryland could speak, she would scream, I AM A BOY!'”

Another scene in the clip shows a very young Ryland explaining to a crowd of people at a large-scale event that she now considers herself to be a boy, and has never been happier in her whole life.

“I never thought I would be known for this as well as I am, but really it is just a small part of who I am,” said Ryland.

Llenas continued to suggest others should follow the family’s lead.

“The Whittingtons believe sharing their story could make a difference in another child’s life. Something they learned from that support group father nearly a decade ago,” he said.

“I’m just here to make the ride smoother for others. You might be struggling right now but we believe in you. This family, we might not know you or where you live but, you know, we understand you and we believe in you,” concluded Ryland.

Llenas continued to offer the family massive praise.

“What extraordinary courage, displayed by Ryland his sister, father Jeff, and mom Hillary. I want to thank the family for speaking to us,” he stated in admiration before cynically stating that the issue has been “politicized.”

“It is not easy, particularly at a time when transgender issues have been politicized. People are afraid of what they don’t understand. This family hopes their story will lead to more understanding, more acceptance, and ultimately more love,” he concluded.

Big League Politics has covered other instances of American culture encouraging the promotion of gender dysphoria in children in the past, including Joe Biden’s publicly stated views that 8-year-old children should be able to change their gender.

“The idea that an eight-year-old child or a ten-year-old child decides, ‘Ya know, I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier.’ There should be zero discrimination,” Biden said at the time.

The Biden administration has additionally endorsed ‘sex-change’ operations, ‘top surgery,’ and hormone therapy for young children.
