George Soros Drops $1 Million to Political Action Committee that Will Work to Defund the Police
Even at 90 years of age, billionaire oligarch Soros continues to exert shocking levels of political influence.
According to a report by Sandra Salathe of Daily Mail, Soros “recently provided a generous donation to a racial justice organization that supports defunding the police.”
Soros made a generous donation of $1 million to Color of Change of PAC on May 14, per records listed on the Federal Election Commission.
The PAC positions itself as the “nation’s largest online racial justice organization,” and pushes for “divesting from and dismantling the systems that unjustly harm Black people.”
Soros has built a reputation for supporting Democrats running for congressional seats as well as attorneys general and district attorneys. The billionaire investor frequently contributes to candidates or organizations that call for defunding the police.
The Color of Change PAC boasts having seven million members and has sent out petitions calling for reductions in police department budgets following the death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
Their online petition declares:
We know that policing doesn’t keep us safe, communities do. Policing doesn’t lead to thriving communities, investment does.
Communities are in desperate need of the things that keep us safe, housed and healthy, like investments in schools, jobs, affordable housing, parks, mental health services, community centers, and libraries.
But time and again, police budgets are bloated at the expense of our safety.
We must begin to envision the society that functions for ALL of us and we must begin by divesting from and dismantling the systems that unjustly harm Black people.
Soros has been on a roll when it comes to his philanthropy in 2021. Back in February, Soros donated $2 million to Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon’s campaign. BLP previously pointed out how Gascon is notorious for implementing relaxed law enforcement measures that are more favorable to criminals.
Salathe listed off other D.A.s who Soros has donated to:
In addition, Soros also funded Kim Gardner in Missouri, District Attorney Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, Kim Foxx in Chicago, and Rachael Rollins in Massachusetts, who was first woman ever elected as District Attorney in Suffolk County and the first woman of color ever elected District Attorney in Massachusetts.
Soros is the founder of Soros Fund Management and is worth roughly $8.6 billion. Of all the oligarchs who donate to leftist causes, Soros is arguably the most prominent. His contributions have led to the proliferation of leftist, anarcho-tyranny policies at the local level, which have destabilized cities nationwide.
Simply put, any candidate or organization who receives funding from Soros is part of a broader movement to turn America into a massive cesspool of globalism. For that reason, they should be opposed at all costs.
