Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger Says There Will Be a Recount

Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State, announced before reporters Friday that there will be a recount in his state.

Raffensperger said: “Right now Georgia remains too close to call. Out of approximately five million votes cast, we’ll have a margin of a few thousand. The focus for our office and for the county election officials for now remains on making sure every legal vote is counted and recorded accurately. As we are closing in on a final count, we can begin to look toward our next steps. With a margin that small, there will be a recount in Georgia.”

Joe Biden pulled ahead of Donald Trump in Georgia by approximately 1,500 votes early Friday morning. It is unclear whether the state has started working through the several thousand military ballots that need to be counted.

The military ballots and a recount will probably help Trump. The president was not expected to lose Georgia, and there are rumors of voter fraud in Atlanta. We shall see what happens.
