GOP Reps. Salazar And Six Others Unveil Amnesty Bill For Illegal Aliens

Representative Maria Salazar (R-FL) and six other House Republicans have introduced an amnesty plan for illegal aliens amidst the largest wave of illegal immigration in American history.
Salazar released her legislation titled “The Dignity Act” Tuesday. The bill would make the nation’s 13 to 22 million illegal aliens eligible for green cards — and thus eventually American citizenship — so long as they adhere to a 15-year process that will be outlined below.
“It’s amazing how out of step Rep. Maria Salazar is with the Republican Party, and certainly the Republican base,” NumbersUSA’s Rosemary Jenks told Breitbart News. “We are in the middle of a historic border surge, and her response is to propose the largest amnesty in history.”
The House Republicans co-sponsoring the amnesty are:

- John Curtis (R-UT)
- Pete Sessions (R-TX)
- Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR)
- Tom Reed (R-NY)
- Peter Meijer (R-MI)
Some notable lines of the bill include a provision that “restarts border contracts and completes border barrier construction” as well as the introduction of “100% mandatory, nationwide E-Verify to end hiring of illegal workers.” The ‘E-verify’ portion, while considered in many circles to be a largely effective policy when curtailing illegal immigration, appears to contradict some of the proposed legislation’s goals; it notably also stated the intention of “giving Dignity to people living in the shadows” and “provid[ing] a practical solution for the undocumented.”
‘The Dignity Act’ self-contradicted yet again with statements saying it “ends illegal immigration once and for all” and “protects in [sic] American Workers and saves American industries.” In reality, it appears to do largely the opposite — the same bill grants illegal aliens who have held a work permit for 10 years the ability to enter a five-year program that will secure them a green card and eventually American citizenship.
“This is an unserious proposal by unserious people,” Jenks said.
There were over two million border crossers and illegal aliens who arrived at the southern border in the year 2021, Breitbart reported. Over 530,000 of those arrivals were released into the U.S. interior, and nearly 45,000 aliens were put on commercial domestic flights and flown into the country, often at no charge.
