Government Vehicles Used to Transport Protestors to #MarchForOurLives Rally

Parkland survivors and other activists with the #MarchForOurLives movement made a pit stop on their road to change in Bismarck.

“We don’t want Bismarck to be the next Parkland,” activist David Hogg said. “We don’t want anywhere to be the next Parkland.”

Even though #MarchForOurLives made a stop at Standing Rock reservation on Wednesday on the day of the Fargo Rally where President Trump was speaking, students from the Standing Rock reservation accompanied David Hogg to Bismarck as well to take the stage and share stories about gun violence. Even though David Hogg’s primary message was about disarming the public and making the notion that guns are the issue, the message of this protest was more than just about guns.

Student panelists Liz Schneider, Katie Winbauer, Taylor Toso, Tokata Iron Eyes, Bria Smith, David Hogg and Matt Deitsch spoke to a crowd of about 90 people.

“We believe in the use of the second amendment to protect your family.” Hogg said. “We also believe the same way that we have a right to bear arms we as children have a right to live.”

The one hour and 45 minute discussion was basically a push for Democrat policies in regards to immigration, EPA, and voting. However, the one thing both sides could agree on is that the current Secretary of State Al Jaeger does NOT ensure that all ELIGIBLE voters can vote BUT his policies allow anyone, illegal or legal, who hold a driver’s license able to vote in all STATE elections. Basically, you don’t really have to be an American citizen to vote in state or local elections only federal ones which is a clarification

Gary Emineth of Bismarck is pushing to ensure is rectified in local North Dakota legislation. Though, the signs on the platform showed a message of anti-arms they also showed a message of Open Borders.

But the most troubling of all issues in this rally was that the people arriving from Standing Rock Reservation to protest against the Second Amendment were driven there in a government vehicles.

WATCH:

Last year, during the DAPL protests many government vehicles were used to transport protesters and it was disputed whether bussing protestors was “Official Government Use.” Considering the DOI had contracted the vehicles with federal funding which oversaw preservation, water, forests and all things the Department of Interior.

Since the DAPL protest had to do with preservation of things overseen and directly included to DOI handling it was deemed within scope to use the government vehicle for such activities. But does the same apply to the #MarchForOurLives Rally?

“I don’t see why this license plate for Lake Oahe Group Home would be under a Department of Interior contract, those are usually HHS,” said Ulysses, the FSR that oversees government vehicle registrations for Lake Oahe Group Home.

When Big League Politics reached out to the Department of Interior, Angela Cooper, she directed us to her email.

“I don’t handle tribal agreements myself, they are delegated elsewhere but I don’t think foster homes or group homes fall under such a category,” she said

BLP did not receive a response tot the comment request sent via email.

BLP also reached out to Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp who recently promoted and advocated for more federal funds in forms of grants to be provided to the reservation in Fort Yates.

In contrast, Hoeven, a Republican, has been silent about defending the second amendment and seems in the recent months to be very aligned with the Democratic agenda as opposed to that of his party. He has received endorsements from the NRA in the past but his gun control stance since then has been wobbly.

Hoeven is a known RINO.
