GUILTY: Creepy Porn Lawyer Michael Avenatti Convicted in Extortion Trial

Avenatti will likely be behind bars soon.

Creepy porn attorney Michael Avenatti, who the Democrats once saw as their electoral antidote to President Trump, has been convicted on all counts in his trial for extortion.

Prosecutors made the case that Avenatti wanted millions of dollars from Nike, threatening to go public with allegations that they were paying off amateur basketball players. They also said he betrayed his client who brought the allegations to Avenatti’s attention for personal monetary gain.

Prosecutors made the case that Avenatti exploited his client Gary Franklin, a youth basketball coach who had a dispute with Nike. He hired Avenatti hoping to settle his score with Nike, but Avenatti saw dollar signs, prosecutors argued. Avenatti’s extreme amounts of debt may have been the catalyst for hatching this scheme.

Avenatti’s attorneys argued that their client was on a crusade to root out corruption, and do so with his typically brash and outrageous style.

“The only way to root out corruption, the only way to dismiss employees for corruption is an internal investigation,” defense attorney Howard Srebnick said. “He was on a mission for his client. He was on a mission to achieve the goals of his client, and again he would be paid along the way.”

However, the jury did not buy Avenatti’s defense, and he was ultimately found guilty on three charges, including transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort, honest services wire fraud, and attempted extortion. He has additional cases pending for allegedly stealing the book advance from porn star Stormy Daniels and committing fraud in the state of California.

Big League Politics reported last year when the creepy porn attorney received these additional charges:

The Department of Justice announced on Wednesday that Avenatti is being hit with a new wire fraud charge while two counts of conspiracy are being dropped against the loudmouth attorney who has become a national punch line after refusing to deliver on his boasts to take down the President…

Avenatti is accused of attempting to extort corporate sports apparel giant Nike out of up to $25 million. According to the allegations, he threatened to expose their untoward dealings in college athletics if he was not paid the money…

Avenatti became a favorite of the fake news because of his shameless willingness to tout explosive and baseless claims about President Donald Trump…

Avenatti will be lucky to observe the 2020 presidential election as a free man, as the creepy porn lawyer’s years of slimy behavior are finally coming back to bite him.

Sentencing has yet to be determined for Avenatti at the present time

White Pill: Montana House Moves Constitutional Carry Bill Forward

Constitutional Carry is one ray of hope for the Right.

Published

on

On January 20, 2021, the Montana House of Representatives passed Constitutional Carry legislation, HB102.

Dean Weingarten of Ammoland.com reported that the bill passed by a 66 to 31 margin.

Weingarten provided some context to the significance of this bill’s progress:

The bill is the accumulation of a decade and a half of struggle against Democrat Governors, who have repeatedly vetoed reform legislation passed with large majorities in the legislature. Numerous sections in the bill show the Montana legislature has learned the lesson from other states as they restore the right to keep and bear arms.

Montana’s Senate is made up of 31 Republicans and 19 Democrats and Governor Greg Gianforte is a Republican, so the passage of this bill augurs well.  If passed, HB102 would make Montana the 17th Constitutional Carry state.

Montana is already a very gun-friendly state, and represents a low-hanging fruit for Second Amendment activists to tap into.

Constitutional Carry has been one of the most successful movements on the Right over the past twenty years. It’s easy to complain about the corrupt status quo, but there are still plenty of ways right-wingers can score victories. Constitutional Carry is one of them.

It would behoove the Right to analyze existing trends and build off movements that are already producing results. There’s no need to embark on quixotic campaigns that end up being total fools’ errands. Find what’s already working and run with it.
