Gun Owners of America, Congressional Republicans Call for AG Barr To Investigate Rogue Soros-Funded Saint Louis Prosecutor Railroading McCloskeys
Gun rights organization Gun Owners of America is calling upon Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate Soros-funded Saint Louis prosecutor Kim Gardner, citing the Democrat’s legally dubious witch hunt targeting Mark and Patricia McCloskey. Gardner is attempting to charge the Saint Louis couple with firearms charges for wielding a rifle and a non-functional courtroom prop on their own property, in the face of a trespassing mob of Black Lives Matter rioters.
Several conservative members of Congress are also urging the Justice Department to investigate Kim Gardner’s conduct, sending the Attorney General a letter on Thursday making the case for oversight of the rogue Democrat prosecutor.
Gardner’s office rammed through the charges even after the lead Saint Louis Police detective investigating the incident refused to sign off on a probable cause statement. The Democrat’s subordinate also ordered for the courtroom prop Patricia McCloskey was holding to be reassembled to be a functional firearm.
House Republicans Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Dan Crenshaw and Dan Bishop were among the representatives who urged an investigation of Gardner.
“Sadly, these God-given rights bestowed upon al citizens of the United States were trampled by the McCloskey’s very own local officials… This decision is not only an abuse of power, it is a reckless assault on all citizen’s right to bear arms.
We urge you and the DOJ to investigate Ms. Gardner’s actions, and the actions of every rogue prosecutor who fails to uphold the rule of law and secure the rights of our citizens.”
The pattern of misconduct on the part of Gardner and her subordinate Chris Hinckley all but guarantee the attempt to ram through a political prosecution of the McCloskeys will end in embarrassment for the Saint Louis prosecutor. Missouri Governor Mike Parson and President Donald Trump have already suggested they’d issue a pardon for the couple, both lawyers, in the event of a legally dubious conviction.
