Gun Owners of America Warns About Biden Regime Using Executive Power to Implement Universal Background Checks

On August 1, 2023, Gun Owners of America (GOA) sent a warning to its members about the Biden regime’s plan to use executive action to implement universal background checks.

GOA’s warning was made on the same day Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal urged the Biden regime to use the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to “issue and [make] effective” additional regulations on firearm sales.

According to Breitbart News, Blumenthal’s calls for executive action to implement gun control features a change in the definition of who and/or what actually is a gun dealer.

The change in definition would be realized using the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, legislation which Texas Senator John Cornyn forged together with Democrats. If this change goes through, it would have expanded the requirement for background checks on firearm sales.

GOA sent a press release to Breitbart News, where they noted they are in the process of filing a lawsuit against the Biden regime’s executive action for universal background checks. However, GOA stressed that Congress must take action as well as noted below:

While Gun Owners of America fights for the Second Amendment in the courts, Congress must repeal the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act—which was a compromise with the Biden Administration that Republicans NEVER should have struck. It has been completely weaponized, gun owners have gained nothing, and America is no safer. Cornyn-Murphy has got to go, and Republicans must expiate for this sin.

Congress must also participate in the rulemaking process and voice its opposition to backdoor universal background registration checks during the public notice and comment period alongside GOA members. After commenting during the proposed rule phase, Congress must also take up a joint resolution of disapproval pursuant to the Congressional Review Act and strike down this unconstitutional infringement.

Universal background checks have long been a dream for Gun Control Inc. Such measures would require a firearm registration system to be enforced.

And as gun owners know all too well, gun registration is the first step towards gun confiscation.

For those who want to restore the Second Amendment, opposition to these UBC schemes is of the utmost importance. An out of control executive branch is a nightmare for the Second Amendment.
