HA: Biden ‘Administration’ is Passing on Progressives Like Bernie and Pocahontas for Neocons and Corporate Shills

Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have largely fallen in line behind faux-president-elect Joe Biden, even after their candidate was shafted repeatedly during the presidential primary.

And now they are receiving their reward for selling out: Bupkis.

A report in The Independent indicates that Sanders as well as his colleague Sen. Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren (D-MA) will be frozen out of the administration completely. Democrats are thumbing their nose at their radicalized left-wing constituents and heading in a more centrist direction.

“The Biden administration has to be a lot more sensitive of where you come from if you’re looking at members of Congress,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), blaming lost U.S. House seats on the party’s radical faction. “We cannot afford to put any seats in jeopardy.”

Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) is in line to benefit from Biden’s betrayal of his extremist base.

“If he surprises me by asking me to consider serving in his Cabinet, I’d be honored to do so,” Coons said about speculation that he is a front-runner to be Biden’s secretary of state.

“But I could also understand how he might say, ‘Look, we’re at a moment where folks who can deliver on bipartisanship in the Senate are at a premium, and I need you to stay there.’,” he added.

Big League Politics has reported on how the Biden administration is planning to depart from President Trump’s “America First” foreign policy and revert back to endless war and global empire with the blessing of neocon Dick Cheney:

The upcoming Joe Biden administration, if it is certified by the courts, will undo the “America First” foreign policy agenda of President Trump and renew hostilities throughout the globe, particularly with regards to Russia.

Russian officials are downplaying the potential hostilities, as they hope to avoid incurring the wrath of a possible administration with a glorified vegetable as its figurehead.

“Biden . . . will certainly change the style of US foreign policy but will hardly be able or willing to reverse some of its key trends,” said Dmitri Trenin, director of the Carnegie Moscow Center. “Confrontation with Russia will continue.”

However, Biden has made his intentions with Russia clear. The nation is to be punished for the nonexistent Russian collusion scandal that was invented through whole cloth by the Obama administration before Trump even took office.

“We must impose real costs on Russia for its violations of international norms and stand with Russian civil society, which has bravely stood up time and again against President Vladimir Putin’s kleptocratic authoritarian system,” Biden wrote in an article from the spring.

He added: “Putin wants to tell himself, and anyone else he can dupe into believing him, that the liberal idea is ‘obsolete.’ But he does so because he is afraid of its power,” he wrote, arguing the Kremlin feared a strong Nato, which he described as “the most effective political-military alliance in modern history”.”

An insider told Financial Times that Biden’s inner circle is motivated by an “emotional” hatred of the Russians, which will guide their foreign policy of extreme belligerence.

“We expect a massive toughening of the stance towards Russia,” a high-ranking Washington D.C. diplomat said. “There is a hatred for Russia amongst [Biden’s team] that is really amazing. It’s not just rational; it’s also very emotional.”

Unfortunately for Biden, he is putting the cart before the horse. The presidential election is far from decided, as evidence of abnormalities put the legitimacy of the announced results into serious doubt.
