HAHA: Lyin’ Biden “Fact Checked” By Associated Press

Joe Biden repeated an often-stated and false Democrat talking point about guns during his first State of the Union speech, Associated Press reported in a recent “fact-check” article.

In one part of the speech, Biden asked for Congress to pass anti-second amendment gun control measures that he believes would reduce gun-related crimes.

“Repeal the liability shield that makes gun manufacturers the only industry in America that can’t be sued, the only one,” said the White House occupant.

“That’s false,” wrote AP in their analysis headered ‘THE FACTS.’ “While gun manufacturers do have legal protections from being held liable for injuries caused by criminal misuse of their weapons thanks to the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, they are not exempt or immune from being sued.”

The media conglomerate then linked an earlier article in which they further dived into Biden’s numerous false claims about the immunity surrounding gun manufacturers. The piece pointed out that gun manufacturers enjoy some protections from lawsuits based on the criminal misuse of their products, but can still be sued for a myriad of reasons.

Another notable part of Biden’s lie was his language choice in stating that gun manufacturers are the “only” industry in the nation enjoying the protections he claimed they had.

This is patently false; large pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer and Moderna enjoy incredibly strong protection from lawsuits, holding immunity and absolutely zero legal liability should their shots maim or even kill any of its recipients. The Associated Press pointed this out in a recent February article.

While gun manufacturers have legal protections that shield them from most lawsuits, this does not mean they are exempt from being sued, according to legal experts. Nor are they the only industry with such protections. For example, COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers have legal shields as well.

It was also pointed out by Breitbart News that “the protections set forth PLCAA do not shield gun manufacturers from lawsuits over defective goods, criminal misconduct on the part of the gun maker, etc. In other words, the protections in PLCAA do not provide gun makers with ‘legal immunity.'”
