HAHA: Twitter Tells Court Musk’s Use Of Poop Emoji Is ‘Disparaging’

Big tech has gone wild! Twitter, which has promised legal action against Tesla CEO Elon Musk in order to force a close on his past offer to buy the social media giant, reportedly cited a tweet by Musk in which they claim he publicly disparaged them by posting a poop emoji on the platform.
Representatives of Twitter have claimed that Musk violated a previous legal pledge to purchase the company for $44 billion. Musk says that he cannot finalize the deal until the platform proves how many of its users are truly verified vs. bots and other fake accounts.
Musk had posted that he would prioritize removing “spam bots” from Twitter back in April.
“Twitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users,” Musk posted on May 13, before adding, “The bots are angry at being counted.”

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal indicated he believes Musk is being unreasonable in such a request, stating that is far too difficult for Twitter to simply determine which accounts are fake “on any given day.” He also posted several threads defending the big tech platform on May 16th, writing, “First, let me state the obvious: spam harms the experience for real people on Twitter, and therefore can harm our business. As such, we are strongly incentivized to detect and remove as much spam as we possibly can, every single day. Anyone who suggests otherwise is just wrong.”
“Our actual internal estimates for the last four quarters were all well under 5% – based on the methodology outlined above. The error margins on our estimates give us confidence in our public statements each quarter,” he continued.
“Unfortunately, we don’t believe that this specific estimation can be performed externally, given the critical need to use both public and private information (which we can’t share),” he added. “Externally, it’s not even possible to know which accounts are counted as mDAUs on any given day.”
It was at this moment when Elon Musk replied with the poop emoji, greatly upsetting Twitter’s legal team.

“So how do advertisers know what they’re getting for their money? This is fundamental to the financial health of Twitter,” Musk added in a follow-up reply.
Twitter has now hired attorneys in an attempt to legally force Musk into closing the deal, who reportedly said Monday that Musk’s efforts to renege on the initial offer are “invalid and wrongful.”
