Harris County Judge Linda Hidalgo Calls On Biden Regime to Halt New State Border Bill

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo teamed up with two other Texas county judges to send a letter to President Joe Biden on November Monday urging for the Biden regime to take action after the Texas State Legislature passed a border bill that the county judges declared is in “direct violation of the federal government’s jurisdiction over immigration law.” They contended that Senate Bill 4, which grants the state government the power to deport people who are suspected of crossing Texas’ border with Mexico illegally, is “as unprecedented as Texas trying to declare its own wars.”
Republican state officials passed the bill on November 14, 2023 by a 83-61 vote. The bill is now heading to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk for his final signature.
In this letter, Hidalgo, Travis County Judge Andy Brown and El Paso County Judge Ricardo A. Samaniego declared that the bill violates the US Constitution and called on the Biden regime to intervene to prevent the legislation from being enforced
Under this new law, police would have the power to arrest individuals they believe are illegally entering Texas from Mexico and judges would determine if they will end up receiving an “order to return” to Mexico.
“In practice, SB 4 will allow – and sometimes require – judges across the entire state of Texas to deport people, even if they are in the process of seeking asylum,” the three county leaders proclaimed in the letter. “Police officers, whose effectiveness depends on close ties with their local communities, will now be in charge of detaining immigrants for deportation.”
Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey, the only Republican in this body, took Hidalgo to task and countered by noting that the new legislation will grant law enforcement more power to secure the border.
“Who is Lina Hidalgo for? The citizens of Harris County who are already carrying a significant tax burden, or the people entering illegally who will push our already strained system even further?” Ramsey proclaimed in a statement on November Tuesday. “The Biden Administration has created this crisis, and left Texas no choice but to address these border issues to keep our state safe.”
These judges are clearly manifesting activist mindsets that have no place in a polity that believes in national sovereignty and the preservation of its historic ethnic core. In a rational political order, Judge Hidalgo would be stripped of her position and relegated to pauper status for her derelict behavior.
