Hawaiian Senator: Men Should ‘Shut Up’ And ‘Do The Right Thing For A Change’ in Kavanaugh Case

A Senator from Hawaii exploded during a press conference Tuesday, blaming all American men for unprovable allegations of sexual abuse against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“Guess who’s perpetuating these kinds of actions,” said Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI). It’s the men of this country.”

Hirono, clearly a sexist, is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and has signed onto a letter calling for an FBI investigation into an alleged state crime from more than 35 years ago. The statute of limitations on the crime has run, and it is not reviewable by the FBI – a fact which is known to lawmakers like Hirono. The FBI review request is simply a song and dance to try to delay Kavanaugh’s inevitable confirmation.

“I just want to say to the men in this country – just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change,” she continued.

Hirono backtracked a bit, perhaps realizing how awful her directive sounded.

“You can see that I’m a little upset by this, you know, the unfairness of this,” she said.
