House Resolution Would Make United States Policy to Achieve Victory Against Russia in Ukraine

South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson introduced a resolution last month that would declare it a United States policy to have Ukraine come out victorious against Russia. Conditions of victory would consist of the return of all Russian-contrólele territory to Ukraine which includes Crimea.

Per a Yahoo News report, the resolution “affirms that it is the policy of the United States to see Ukraine victorious against the invasion and restored to its internationally recognized 1991 borders.”

The resolution is co-sponsored by Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen and will need to make it across the House Foreign Affairs Committee before being put to the floor for a vote in the full House. Texas Congressman Michael McCaul is the chair of the committee who has been pushing for President Joe Biden to supply Ukraine with longer-range weapons that can launch missile attacks on Crimea.

These developments come after leaks allegedly released by Airman Jack Teixeira revealed the Biden regime doesn’t think Ukraine can recapture territory in its expected counteroffensive. On top of that, the Pentagon has informed Congress that it’s unlikely Ukraine will be able to retake Crimea.

Despite the US government’s sobering assessment of the realities on the ground in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his top aides insist peace talks can’t transpire until Russia is kicked out of Crimea and the territory it took since launching its special military operation on February 24, 2022.

A congressional staffer who is in favor of the resolution informed Yahoo that the bill “demonstrates the wide support in Congress for Ukrainian victory. We all need to move beyond ‘as long as it takes’ and embrace ‘Ukrainian victory’ as our rallying cry in order for Ukraine to win the war this year.”

As Dave DeCamp of Antiwar.com noted, should this become the official US policy, Ukraine’s war aims would ensure a prolonged conflict and would create the conditions for a potential NATO vs. Russia clash. This has to be avoided at all costs.

A sane US government would make its official policy in Ukraine and other foreign conflict zones in the Eurasian space one of non-intervention. It’s the only way to prevent a geopolitical disaster of epic proportions from ever happening.
