Hungarian PM Viktor Orban Says 2024 Election Will Impact Situation in Ukraine

On March 10, 2023, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban declared that the results of the 2024 presidential election in the United States may affect  the situation in Ukraine if the Russo-Ukrainian conflict in that country continues for several more years.

Orban believes that Ukraine can continue conducting combat operations as long as the US is saying “yes.” He stressed that  only when US  authorities say “no” to continuing this war will a ceasefire become a reality. “[Former US President Donald] Trump, who plans to run for president again, wants a ceasefire,” Orban said during an interview with the Kossuth radio station. Orban believed that this is why the 2024 elections in  the US may directly impact the situation in Ukraine, he noted. “It may even influence the outcome of the war,” he emphasized.

Per the Hungarian prime minister, while the US had played a less active role in European affairs over the past few decades, the situation has changed since Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine and the US has responded by leading the “war coalition” supporting Ukraine. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, the US and its satrapies in NATO have sanctioned Russia, while also deploying copious amounts of economic and military aid to Ukraine.

Orbán has repeatedly said that talks would be needed to bring the Ukrainian conflict to an end, which he increasingly sees as a de facto NATO vs. Russia conflict.

Orbán is one of the greatest statesmen of the 21st century. He is not only a staunch nationalist who opposes mass migration and cultural degeneracy, but the Hungarian Prime Minister is a level-headed foreign policy realist.

The West needs more Orbán’s if it wants to survive this otherwise tumultuous 21st century.
