Ilhan Omar Says She Believes Biden Committed Sexual Assault, But Will Vote For Him Anyway

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has stated publicly that she believes Tara Reade, a former staffer for presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden who has alleged he sexually assaulted her, but will vote for Biden despite the fact that she thinks he is a predator.

“Believing survivors is consistent with my values. Yes, I endorsed against Biden and I didn’t pick him as our nominee. With that said, in this interview I did on May 6th, we talked about that and quotes aren’t always in context. I will vote for him and help him defeat Trump,” Omar wrote in a tweet attempting to express solidarity for Reade while shilling for Biden.

“We can’t fend off perceived attacks with attacks on others. This is the most important election cycle of our lifetimes and we aren’t going to have a chance if we don’t spend our energy in mobilizing and building enthusiasm against Trump. That’s the goal we should all be united on,” Omar wrote in a subsequent Twitter post.

She also talked about her stance in favor of voting for a man she believes is a sexual predator during an interview with The Sunday Times.

“There’s a lot of unsavory stuff. It is troubling, I do believe Tara Reade, I believe it’s important for us to give space for women to come forward and share their stories. It takes years and years for sexual assault survivors to come forward. Justice can be delayed but it should never be denied,” Omar said.

“If considerations [over the candidate] were something I had influence over, just candidly here, we’d probably have a different candidate,” she added – making it clear that Biden is not a candidate she finds particularly desirable.

Fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) expressed a similar opinion that she would vote for a man she believes committed sexual assault because of her hatred for Trump.

“I reject the false choice that my party and our nominee can’t address the allegations at hand and defeat the occupant of the White House,” Pressley wrote.

Reade has come forward in recent weeks to accuse Biden of victimizing her in 1993 when he was a Senator and she worked under him:

Tara Reade, a former staffer for Joe Biden while he was serving in the Senate, filed a criminal complaint in Washington D.C. against her former boss on Saturday alleging he sexually assaulted her in 1993.

Reade attests that Biden “assaulted her in a Senate corridor, shoving his hand under her skirt and penetrating her with his fingers.” Business Insider has reported that the “statute of limitations for the alleged assault has passed,” but this troublesome news is not expected to help Biden’s presidential chances.

Reade spoke her truth to writer Katie Halper when she appeared on her podcast last month. Reade claims that she has been trying to get justice for years but her story has mostly fallen on deaf ears due to Biden being protected.

“We were alone, and it was the strangest thing,” Reade said to Halper. “There was no, like, exchange really, he just had me up against the wall. His hands were on me and underneath my clothes. And then, he went, he went down my skirt and then up inside it, and he penetrated me with his fingers…and um…He was kissing me at the same time and he was saying something to me.”

“He got finished doing what he was doing and I, how I was pulled back and he said, ‘Come on man, I heard you liked me.’ And that phrase stayed with me because I kept thinking what I might have said,” she continued. “And I can’t remember exactly if he said ‘I thought’ or if ‘I heard.’ It’s like he implied that I had done this.”

Reade’s allegations are yet to be proven by hard evidence, but this situation has certainly exposed the incredible hypocrisy of Democrats when it comes to the #MeToo movement and sexual assault claims.
