ISIS Recently Targeted Las Vegas Strip

In May, 2017 Las Vegas authorities were on high alert after finding a “credible threat” of lone wolf terror attacks on the famed Vegas strip. A 44 minute video showed images of the highest-profile hotels and casinos on the strip accompanied by threats from an apparent ISIS soldier.
This was the second time that Las Vegas had been threatened by ISIS. The first was in June, 2016. Lawmakers in Las Vegas passed what was called the “more cops tax” which paid for 60 more police officers to patrol the strip.
The FBI’s field office was working with “international law enforcement, intelligence, and security service agencies to share information and intelligence,” according to FOX News.
Sunday night’s shooting was perpetrated by Stephen Paddock, a Nevada man in his mid 60’s. He was found dead on the scene after firing into an open crowd at an outdoor Jason Aldean concert from his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. More than 50 people have died, and latest reports indicate that more than 400 are injured. Paddock’s roommate at the hotel, Marilou Danley, is in Tokyo, Japan and is sought for questioning.
