James Comey Gloats After DOJ Refuses to Prosecute Him Despite Acknowledging Massive Wrongdoing

Former FBI Director James Comey is gloating on social media today, after it was announced that the Department of Justice will not prosecute him despite issuing a report detailing his extensive wrongdoing in plotting against President Donald Trump as a federal official.

The Justice Department’s inspector general released a report today showing that Comey broke department protocol and violated his employment agreement while working as FBI Director. Despite their conclusions, they have decided not to hold him accountable.

“The responsibility to protect sensitive law enforcement information falls in large part to the employees of the FBI who have access to it through their daily duties. … Former Director Comey failed to live up to this responsibility. By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees—and the many thousands more former FBI employees—who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information,” the report says.

Nevertheless, Comey will face no repercussions for his actions. The DOJ also effectively cleared Comey from any criminal wrongdoing in leaking classified information from his memos detailing alleged conversations with President Trump to the public.

“Comey had several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the appointment of a Special Counsel, which he told us was his goal in making the disclosure. What was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information, obtained during the course of FBI employment, in order to achieve a personally desired outcome,” the report says.

The DOJ claims they are not charging him “in part because they didn’t believe there was evidence to show Comey knew and intended to violate laws on handling classified information.” This sounds an awful lot like Comey’s rationale for refusing to charge Hillary Clinton with a crime for her infamous email scandal in 2016.

“Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information,” Comey said in 2016.

The deep state has demonstrated once again that its minions are completely above the law, as one of the most brazen perpetrators of the scheme to undermine and oust President Trump from office will not face justice even after an investigation uncovered his illicit behavior.
