Joe Biden Calls for Civilian Disarmament After Thug Shoots Two Police Officers in Compton

After an armed thug ambushed and shot two Los Angeles County deputies in their car on September 12, 2020 in Compton, California, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden immediately called for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines.
Biden tweeted on September 13, 2020, “Weapons of war have no place in our communities. We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

Prior to making these comments, Biden described the shooting as “unconscionable” and demanded that the suspect be brought to justice. He tweeted, “This cold-blooded shooting is unconscionable and the perpetrator must be brought to justice. Violence of any kind is wrong; those who commit it should be caught and punished. Jill and I are keeping the deputies and their loved ones in our hearts and praying for a full recovery.”
President Donald Trump demanded a “fast trial” for the assailant and even suggested the possibility of the death penalty. At a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trump stated, “If you murder a police officer, you should receive the death penalty!”

Curiously, Dan Zimmerman at the Truth About Guns noted that “the shooter who ambushed two Los Angeles County deputies in their car Saturday used a handgun rather than an AR-15.”
BLP previously reported that Biden has called for bans on “assault weapons” and even glocks. Biden has the desire of instituting a “national buyback program” to get “assault weapons” off America’s streets. Due to the broad category of “assault weapons”, numerous semi-automatic firearms would be subject to this ban.
Biden’s support of gun control goes deep. While in the Senate, he was the author of the 1990 Gun-Free School Zones Act and the 1994 assault weapons ban. Additionally, he voted for the Brady Act of 1993, the largest expansion of gun control at the federal level in the last three decades.
In another article, BLP reported on no compromise organizations calling out his running mate Kamala Harris for her anti-gun record.
Instead of promoting law and order, the Biden-Harris ticket tries to shift the discussion into civilian disarmament. No question about it, under a Biden administration, America would be less safe on all fronts.
