Joe Biden Calls for Lawsuits Against Gun Manufacturers Following Maine Mass Shooting
On October 26, 2023, President Joe Biden called for the abolition of safeguards that shield gun manufacturers from lawsuits, universal background checks, and other gun control reforms.
WhiteHouse.gov published Biden’s anti-gun proclamation, which started with him stating, “Today, Jill and I are praying for the Americans who’ve lost their lives, for those still in critical care, and for the families, survivors, and community members enduring shock and grief.”
He then called on residents in Lewiston, Maine to abide by all of the warnings that law enforcement has issued, which includes alerts to shelter-in-place.
Biden subsequently talked about the passage of a bipartisan gun control measure in the summer of 2022 with the help of Texas Senator John Cornyn. However, Biden stressed that passing gun control measures is not enough to tackle the issue of gun violence in America.
Biden added:
I urge Republican lawmakers in Congress to fulfill their duty to protect the American people. Work with us to pass a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, to enact universal background checks, to require safe storage of guns, and end immunity from liability for gun manufacturers.
AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News dispelled the assertion Biden made about gun manufacturers being shielded. He noted that “In reality, gun manufacturers are not shielded from liability. Rather, they are protected from frivolous lawsuits over the criminal use of guns that are legally made and legally sold.”
Regardless, Gun Control Inc. does not care about the facts. They’re going to pursue the lawsuit angle in order to bankrupt the gun industry, thereby depriving millions of Americans of firearms to buy. These people are relentless and will not stop until the Second Amendment is destroyed.
For that reason, constant vigilance is needed to put these nefarious actors in check.
