Joe Biden Vows to Fight For “Democracy and Freedom” In Anti-MAGA Speech

During his State of the Union Speech on March 7, 2024, President Joe Biden promised to fight for “democracy and freedom” in the United States and worldwide.

This was the final State of the Union address that Biden gave prior to the presidential election on November 5, 2024. The US president did not mention Trump by name but repeatedly attacked his “predecessor” for being too soft on Russia, throwing a wrench in a bipartisan deal to halt immigration and lay the groundwork for stringent abortion limits nationwide.

On top of that, Biden put forward his agenda for a second term, which includes populist measures such as higher taxes on large enterprises and the wealthy, and promised to lower house prices and lower drug costs, while declaring that the US is the preeminent economic super power.

From the jump, Biden declared that freedom and democracy were “under attack, both at home and overseas, at the very same time” and urged Congress to “stand up” to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, and approve more funding for Kyiv.

“If anybody in this room thinks Putin will stop at Ukraine, I assure you, he will not,” Biden commented.

“It’s outrageous. It’s dangerous. It’s unacceptable,” Biden said of Trump’s relatively realist response. Trump has been vocal about ending the Russo-Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible. This angers the ruling class, who still believes Trump is a Russian asset.

Biden’s remarks are clearly unhinged and are indicative of a political establishment that is generally fearful of the America First agenda of immigration restriction and foreign policy restraint. The fact that Trump got blasted by Biden is a glowing endorsement of his 2024 presidential campaign.
