Joe Biden Wants Congress To Reverse A Female Governor’s Signature Law
Ever since Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed the strongest pro-life laws in the nation and other states like Georgia have passed heartbeat laws, the left has screeched that Congress should pass legislation reversing these laws.
Now, The Hill reports that Joe Biden believes Congress must act quickly to defend abortion.
A spokesperson from Biden’s campaign said, “Vice President Biden firmly believes that Roe v. Wade is the law of the land and should not be overturned.”
The spokesperson continued, “Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri are passing extreme laws in order to prevent a woman to be able to have an abortion under virtually any circumstance. Roe v. Wade lays out a constitutional guarantee that a woman can, in fact, make a choice between she and her doctor. Biden believes that codifying Roe through legislation must be pursued.”
Other Democratic 2020 hopefuls have supported laws to codify Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that effectively legalized murder in America. U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, and Elizabeth Warren have supported such a proposal. Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke, former Senator Mike Gravel, and Former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper are also in favor of making Roe v. Wade an official law at the federal level.
Some Republicans like Senator Susan Collins of Maine has rejected this law, describing it as “very extreme” and “terrible.”
These laws are the latest push by pro-life activists to get abortion taken up to the Supreme Court. The Court’s more conservative leanings will make it more likely that Roe v. Wade is overturned.
