Joe Rogan Warns Against Punishing Law-Abiding Gun Owners, ‘Freedoms Lost Are Rarely Regained’

While left-wing talking heads continue to push gun control agendas that include increased laws and even abolishing the second amendment, Joe Rogan warns Americans about giving the government more power.

The mega-star podcaster argued that by taking guns away from law-abiding citizens, Americans would be not only giving up their God-given right, but they would also be ultimately sacrificing their own personal protection.

It was a “completely f***ed up situation, where a sick person got a hold of a bunch of guns and decided to go kill kids,” Rogan said on Thursday of the recent tragic shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, during an interview with AI researcher and fellow podcaster Lex Fridman.

Rogan and Fridman both condemned gun violence during their conversation, but they also suggested that the government should use caution when crafting policies to deal with it.

In other words, Rogan spoke about the same topics Ted Cruz said in his impassioned defense of the Second Amendment during the National Rifle Association’s annual convention: “We must not react to evil and tragedy by abandoning the constitution”

Like Cruz, Fridman attributed America’s spike in gun violence in recent years to “mental health” problems and a down-spiraling culture. He added, “it’s dangerous to generalize from those problems into something like what I hear about ‘there’s a race war or there’s a gun control problem.'”

“No one knows how to stop that,” Rogan added, acknowledging that mass shootings “happen in this country every now and then.”

“Is the answer to take everyone’s guns?” Rogan asked. “Well, they’re not gonna give their guns up. So, you’re gonna have, only criminals are gonna have guns. It’s not gonna be a good situation.”

To further his point, Rogan stressed the rarely talked about and unforeseen consequences that would stem from a government ban or buy-back program.

“I don’t think it’s wise to take all the guns away from people and leave all the power to the government,” Rogan said. “We see how they are even with an armed populace; they still have a tendency towards totalitarianism. The more increased power and control you have over people, the easier it is for them to do what they do.”

Then Rogan proceeded to capitalize on his argument against any “short-term” gun control solutions pushed by the government: “Freedoms lost are rarely regained.”

“Police are horribly understaffed,” the podcaster added. So any bans on guns for law-abiding Americans is essentially leaving unarmed people at “the mercy of a criminal.”

Some of the solutions Rogan suggested in his interview with Fridman included having armed guards outside every school – similar to how we treat politicians and locations that hold mass gatherings of people.

An idea that is routinely dismissed by left-wing talking heads and media pundits.
