Josh Hawley Calls on DHS Head Alejandro Mayorkas to Reveal Number of Terrorist Illegal Aliens Released Into United States

Missouri Senator Josh Hawley recently urged Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to reveal the total number of “special interest aliens” let loose into the United States over the last two years,
According to a Breitbart News report published earlier in October, DHS figures uncovered that in Fiscal Year 2023, roughly 61,500 special interest aliens were let loose by the Biden regime into American communities.
These illegal aliens, per the DHS’s classifications , are generally “a non-U.S. person who, based on an analysis of travel patterns, potentially poses a national security risk to the United States or its interests.”
“Often such individuals or groups are employing travel patterns known or evaluated to possibly have a nexus to terrorism,” DHS officials said about this category of illegal aliens back in 2019.
Hawley sent a letter to Mayorkas demanding that he release all information connected to special interest aliens released into the US interior over the past two years, which includes the total number, the steps DHS is taking to bolster security at the southern border in the aftermath of the Hamas attack on Israel, and whether the DHS is working with the FBI on terrorism issues connected to immigration.
“I write with alarm regarding the uptick in potential terrorist-linked illegal aliens encountered at the southern border,” Hawley wrote in his letter:
This development follows the barbaric attack perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on innocent American and Israeli civilians. It is imperative that you address this issue immediately to ensure the safety of American citizens, especially Jewish Americans, who are facing increased threats to their physical safety following the Hamas attack.
Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are encountering a growing number of “special interest aliens” from countries known to harbor terrorists—including Iran, Syria, and Lebanon. Just this week, four Iranians were apprehended in Texas by Border Patrol.
Illegal aliens with potential ties to terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah have no place in the United States. In the wake of Hamas’s attack on Israel, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is already alerting Americans about an elevated number of violent threats against civilians, including antisemitic threats. It is therefore critical that you abandon your radical open border policies, and instead, take immediate action to secure the border. As Secretary, your number one priority should be protecting American citizens against potential terrorist entering our country.
Hawley’s concerns are valid here. The US has a nasty combination of an activist Foreign Policy that creates many enemies abroad and an open borders regime that allows its foes to get into the country and cause mayhem. This invade the world, invite the world dynamic is incredibly dangerous for the US.
The first point of order is to get our border secured. A country with a wide open border is no longer a country but rather a shopping mall for all of the world to exploit.
Any serious right winger would make border security and foreign policy restraint a policy priority at this moment. Those who fail to do so are consigning the US to perpetual instability.
