Joy Behar On Ukraine: ‘Worried About My Trip To Italy’
Joy Behar opened her mouth Thursday to complain about the devastating effects following a war in Ukraine — particularly that it will disrupt her planned vacation to Italy in what the UK’s Daily Mail described as “the latest controversy to hit the tone-deaf talk show.”
The faithful moment began soon after co-host Sunny Hostin discussed her opinions on how the situation regarding the eastern European nation may fare.
“Estimates are 50,000 Ukrainians will be dead or wounded and this is going to start a refugee crisis in Europe. We’re talking about 5million people that are going to be displaced. It’s heartbreaking to hear what is going to happen.”
Behar was seemingly more concerned about her travel plans to Italy, a country located approximately 1,500 miles away from Ukraine.
“I’m scared of what’s going to happen in western Europe, too,” she complained. “You plan a trip, you want to go there, I’ve wanted to go to Italy for four years and I haven’t been able to make it because of the pandemic and now this. It’s like, what’s gonna happen there?”
The news comes after ‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg received a two-week suspension from ABC as punishment for saying that the Holocaust was “not about race.” Goldberg had quickly apologized after facing outrage by the mob, but it appeared not enough as she was forced to miss a grand total of 8 episodes following the unpopular comments. The suspension was costly; sources apparently told Daily Mail that Goldberg was due to lose around $192,000 from the missed episodes.
“It’s not always pretty, as I said, and it’s not always as other people would like to hear, but it is an honor to sit at this table and be able to have these conversations because they’re important,” Goldberg said of the controversy.
Big League Politics has chronicled other ridiculous moments of the show, including their racist remarks suggesting that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is not a ‘true black man’ and Behar’s personal demand to black people that they trust the Covid-19 jabs because ‘The Experiment Has Been Done On White People.’ They also one day brought a former co-host onto their show only to savagely attack and bully her for not taking the experimental Covid-19 inoculations despite her defense that personal medical conditions prohibit her from doing so.
