Democrats Kamala Harris of California and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan have both been denounced by their own fathers for putting their political ambition above family.
Harris, a longtime prosecutor, disgraced her own father by using a Jamaican stereotype, while Rashida Tlaib lied and used her father’s address to represent a state House district she did not actually live in. Kamala Harris revealed an unconventional reason for supporting marijuana legalization last week- her own Jamaican ancestry.
When asked about why she supported decriminalizing the drug, she said that “half my family’s from Jamaica. Are you kidding me?”
It seems she said this unaware that many Jamaicans aren’t thrilled to see their country associated with the recreational drug- including her own father, Donald Harris, who immigrated to the United States from the Caribbean island nation.
Harris condemned his own daughter’s remarks in quite surprising and harsh terms, in a statement provided to Jamaica Global Online. Not only did he express his disapproval of her comments on marijuana, but he also went on to take a stab at the identity politics present within the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris campaign.
“My dear departed grandmothers(whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents , must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics. Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.”
Tlaib’s own father even said that Tlaib “lied” about her address in order to run for office.
Here is what the evidence, presented below, proves:
- Rashida Tlaib registered to vote at a false address as she embarked on her first political campaign. “Registering to vote using a false address” is one of a number of crimes that fall into the voter fraud category.
- Tlaib ran for and represented the 12th district in the Michigan House of Representatives even though she was not a resident of that district.
- Records show that Tlaib was an “Absentee Owner” at the Detroit house she claimed to live in.
- Tlaib moved to her official Detroit apartment address, which she reported to the FEC after the election, at the start of her 2018 campaign. Her new address was recorded for the first time one day before she announced her campaign for Congress…
Southern Baptist Convention Reverses Course on Name Change After BLP Reporting
They say they’re not changing their name.
The Southern Baptist Convention has sought to dispel reporting from Big League Politics on the organization’s planned name change, arguing that the institution isn’t formally changing its name.
To correct multiple inaccurate reports, “We Are Great Commission Baptists” is the 2021 Annual Meeting THEME.
The GCB descriptor was approved in 2012 for churches to use if it would be helpful in their local context.
The Southern Baptist Convention remains our official name.

But a close look at the American Christian church’s plans relating to its name reveal that it’s played with the idea far more seriously than they’re making it seem.
Reports of a name change first emerged in a Washington Post article published on Tuesday. SBC President JD Greear told the Post that “hundreds of churches” affiliated with the denomination had “committed” to using the phrase “Great Commission Baptist” as an alternative to the denomination’s longtime moniker. The change would come as Greear touts his support of the Black Lives Matter, although he’s been careful in pointing out he doesn’t support any formal organization related to the movement. Greear also is renaming the church he personally pastors with the term.
The SBC’s 2021 convention will also organize under the motto of “We Are Great Commission Baptists.” Sounds a lot like a name change, even if the SBC’s leadership is steadfastly maintaining it isn’t.
The name ‘Great Commission Baptist’ is theologically sound in the Christian religion, but it’s somewhat questionable that the organization’s leader appears to be emphasizing it at a moment in which political correctness is making its entryism into many Christian churches and organizations.
It seems as if the organization’s figurehead is keen to present himself as a liberal-style suburban Evangelical to the Washington Post, but he changed his tune quite quickly when the rank and file membership of Southern Baptist churches learned that he was promoting the idea of a name change.
