Kari Lake Wins Arizona Republican Senate Primary, Now Faces Off Against Ruben Gallego
On July 30, 2024, Kari Lake won Arizona’s Republican Senate primary after beating rivals such as Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and Elizabeth Reye.
“If you think this is a battle between Democrats and Republicans, you’re still sleeping,” Lake declared in her victory speech, where she urged Trump Republicans, traditional Republicans, “disaffected Democrats,” and other individuals to come together.
Lake built her reputation as a television news anchor in the Phoenix area. She ran as a Republican for Arizona’s gubernatorial race in 2022.
Now she will be facing Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego in the general election, who ran under the Democratic banner unopposed.
In her victory speech, Lake boasted about having an extensive opposition research file on Gallego. She described him as an extremist and an outsider from Chicago.
“It’s official – my opponent is Kari Lake,” Gallego declared in a post on X/Twitter right after Lake’s victory was projected. “Arizona, the choice is clear: Kari wants to ban abortion. I will always protect abortion rights.”
Lake carried 53.3% of the vote, with Lamb picking up 40.7% and Reye picking up 6.1%.
Lake and Gallego are looking to replace outgoing Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema, who opted not to run for reelection. Sinema was first elected under the Democrat in 2018 but became an independent after the 2022 midterm elections.
Lake would be a solid America First addition to Congress whereas Gallego ascending into the Senate will just consolidate the anti-white managerial regime’s power in DC. This is one of few races that should be watched with great interest in this election cycle.
