Keith Olbermann Says that There is No Right To Own Firearms

Following a shooting incident at Tulsa’s St. Francis Hospital on June 1, 2022, in which a gunman killed 4 people, former sports commentator Keith Olbermann declared that there is no right to own a gun.

He tweeted, “Tulsa, now.

Doctor’s office.

Shove your ‘responsible gun owners’ crap up your ass.

The 2nd Amendment does not include the word ‘own.’ There is no right.”

According to AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News, the suspect allegedly carried out the shooting due to frustration he had with back pain. Hawkins added that “the suspect acquired his guns legally, one from a retail store and one from a pawn shop.”

Olbermann’s comments are not a shock. He is hostile towards civil liberties across the board.

He has previously called for progressive podcaster Jimmy Dore to be booted off Twitter for deviating too much from the regime consensus.

In addition, he called for the disenfranchisement of former President Donald Trump, Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar, Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks, Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.  Olbermann cited their alleged role in “inciting” the January 6 storming of the Capitol as grounds for being prevented from running for higher office.

Unquestionably, Olbermann is no friend of traditional American freedoms. Olbermann’s statements represent a growing radicalization that is taking place within mainline liberals. Namely, they’re no longer framing the gun control debate in terms of “common sense” or “reasonable” gun control. Now, they’re going straight for the jugular by calling for the outright destruction of the Second Amendment.

The stakes are high in contemporary American politics. Gone are the days of persuasion politics.

Bold right-wing populists will have to put the anti-freedom leftists in their place and make sure they’re permanently laughed out of the venue.
