Kirsten Gillibrand Wants to Release Illegal Immigrants into American Communities

On CBS’s Face The Nation, 2020 presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand vows to release all illegal immigrants into American communities as long as they are “claiming asylum” in the United States.

The New York Senator promised she would stop all detentions of illegal border crossers and release every foreigner arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border. In addition to the open border’s policy, Gillibrand would provide free legal aid to each border crosser.

Gillibrand stated, “As president of the United States, I would not fund any for-profit prisons, I would not lock up these families.”

She then declared, “I would have a humane immigration policy where people … would have lawyers and have a proper asylum process. “I wouldn’t keep them in detention at all.”

When Gillibrand was questioned on how she would handle the uptick in border apprehensions and crossings, she explained that no border crossers and illegal aliens claiming asylum would be jailed under her administration.

The New York Senator stated, “They don’t need to be incarcerated.”

She also added, “If they’re given a lawyer and given a process, they will follow it. They can go into the community…”

Border crossings are reaching George W. Bush-era levels according to BLP reports. Additionally, new studies show that mass migration comes with a massive price tag. The dangers of uncontrolled migration are no longer hypothetical. The European Union has given the world a  close look at the dangerous socio-economic effects of open borders. BLP highlighted the German case, where no-go zones are starting to pop up.

Gillibrand’s virtue signaling on mass migration is standard for present-day Democrats. However, virtue signaling comes with a major cost in the real world when dealing with sensitive subjects like mass immigration.
