Leading #MeToo Organization Protects Joe Biden Against Sexual Assault Claim From Democrat Official

Former Vice President Joe Biden has been protected by the official #MeToo movement, which declined to advocate for a woman who has made a sexual assault claim against the current Democrat Party presidential front-runner.

According to reporting from The Intercept, an accuser reached out to the organization “Time’s Up” for assistance. The Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund was founded supposedly to help women’s voices be heard as they challenge the powerful men accused of abusing them.

Nevada Democrat politician Lucy Flores, who had reported that Biden had inappropriately sniffed and kissed her at an event in 2014, was shocked by the lack of support she received from the Time’s Up organization regarding her case. They had no interest in exposing Biden, who is seen as the only shot for the Democrats to unseat President Trump in November, and made up lame excuses regarding their inaction.

Flores met with Ellie Driscoll, who works as a program director with the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC), about her accusations against Biden. The NWLC is the umbrella group that set up the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Dec. 2017. Flores was initially encouraged by her meeting with Driscoll, who she believed was in her corner.

On Feb. 11, Driscoll was forced to give Flores the bad news that Time’s Up was going to do nothing to help Flores receive justice pertaining to her accusations against Biden.

Driscoll wrote to Flores that she “wanted to let you know that after our conversation I talked further with our Director, Sharyn Tejani, about our ability to offer funding or public relations support in your case. Unfortunately, the Fund’s decision remains the same.”

“Please know how much I appreciate your courage in speaking out and appreciate what you shared over the phone, that you are speaking out so that your daughter and other young people can start their careers free of harassment,” Driscoll added, offering lip service to Flores in lieu of resources and support.

The NWLC is using the excuse that they cannot attack Biden as a federal candidate or they would risk losing their nonprofit status and the special tax breaks that come with the privileged designation.

“As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the National Women’s Law Center is restricted in how it can spend its funds, including restrictions that pertain to candidates running for election,” wrote NWLC spokesperson Maria Patrick to The Intercept.

“Our decision on whether or not to provide certain types of support to an individual should not be interpreted as our validation or doubt of the truthfulness of the person’s statements. Regardless, our support of workers who come forward regarding workplace sexual harassment remains unwavering,” Patrick added.

Ellen Aprill, who works as a professor of tax law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, believes that the NWLC’s excuse does not hold water.

“As a legal matter, if the group is clear regarding the criteria used as to whom it is taking to court, show that these are long-established neutral criteria, and they are being applied to individuals completely independent of their running for office, it would not be a violation of tax law. Groups are allowed to continue to do what they have always done,” she said.

In addition, the NWLC has attacked President Donald Trump publicly on many occasions, without any worry that their partisan missives against Trump could jeopardize their nonprofit status.

The ties between the NWLC and the Joe Biden presidential campaign suggest that their may be a conflict-of-interest driving the group’s unwillingness to advocate for this alleged victim. SKDKnickerbocker is the public relations firm that works on behalf of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund. Anita Dunn, who works as managing director for SKDKnickerbocker, is a top adviser for Biden’s presidential campaign.

“I don’t want to help Trump. But what can I do?” Reade said regarding her accusations about Biden. “All I can do is stand on my truth.”

The #MeToo movement will not be standing with Reade as she spreads her truth, because the #MeToo movement is not about justice. It is about securing partisan political victories, while attacking due process and the presumption of innocence for males who are not Democrat leaders.
