LEARN TO CODE: Sports Blog ‘Deadspin’ Implodes After Woke Staffers Refuse to Write about Sports
The sports blog Deadspin, which is owned by G/O Media, is falling to pieces after an internal memo from management told writers to “stick to sports” due to a massive fan backlash against political content.
The entitled social justice warrior staffers have staged a revolt, with many quitting their positions rather than performing the jobs they were hired to do.

I resigned from Deadspin this morning. That was a fun time you and me had there all those years, wasn't it? Let's do it again sometime.

The Gizmodo Media Group union, which is apart of the Writers Guild of America East that unionized Deadspin writers last year, issued a message of solidarity to all of the writers taking a stand against doing their jobs.
“’Stick to sports’ is and always has been a euphemism for don’t speak truth to power,” they wrote, calling out G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller in particular for the policy.
“In addition to being bad business, Spanfeller’s actions are morally reprehensible,” the union claimed.

However, G/O Media claims that the changes they are making are in fact good for business. They are responding to market demand at a time when demand for “woke” sports media is in the toilet.
“In September, unsurprisingly, 24 of the top 25 stories on Deadspin were sports-related while non-sports content accounted for less than 1 percent of the page views on the site,” a spokesman for G/O Media said.
The spokesman added that “our writers have a free hand to cover the intersection of sports and politics, sports and pop culture, sports and business, or, frankly, just about any topic even tangentially related to sports.”
ESPN has made similar editorial changes in recent months, which has sent their SJW personalities into a tizzy as a result:
The iconic sports network ESPN finds itself in a serious bind. After embracing woke identity politics while Obama was President and doubling down with constant ‘Orange Man Bad’ coverage after Trump replaced him, the network is attempting to put the genie back in the bottle and ignore politics altogether.
The only problem is their analysts, many of whom are social justice warriors who have been immersed in the fake news ecosystem for their entire careers, are not going along with the program despite the fact that it is what their fans want…
ESPN host Dan Le Betard, who wrote for the Miami Herald from 1990-2016, is openly defying the orders from his boss as he feels that the sports network should be a vehicle for his leftist political beliefs.
“We here at ESPN don’t have the stomach for the fight. We don’t talk about what is happening unless there is some sort of weak, cowardly sports angle that we can run it through,” said Le Betard, who clearly believes every facet of modern life should be relentlessly politicized.
Barstool Sports, a blog that has gained a large following by standing in opposition to “woke” left-wing culture, issued a mocking challenge to Deadspin employees.
“Anyway as an olive branch to my good friends at Deadspin and in a sign of solidarity with the Deadspin Union I will publish any blog trashing Deadspin written by Deadspin employees that is getting deleted by the Deadspin owners… How gallant is that?” Barstool president Dave Portnoy said.
The former Deadpool employees may be wise to learn to code, as the woke media industry dries up as consumers grow weary with the nauseating agenda.
