Leftists Outraged Over ‘Racist,’ ‘Discriminatory’ SCOTUS Affirmative Action Ruling: ‘Tantamount To Sticking A Dagger In Our Back’

Right on cue, leftists are losing their minds over the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling that race-based affirmative actions programs are unconstitutional under the 14th amendment.

In case you missed it, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday to block affirmative action in two closely watched lawsuits against Harvard and the University of North Carolina (UNC).

This roll back of affirmative action policies at the university level will undoubtedly lead to the upending of corporate hiring and recruiting practices down the line.

The left understands this, which is why they are blasting the ruling as – yes, you guessed it – “racist.”

Just look at this response from the New York Times:

President Biden criticized the ruling, stating “I strongly disagree with that decision.”

“Today, the court once again walked away from decades of precedents,” he added.

Here’s Michelle Obama with her statement:

The so-called moving from decades of precedents is being applauded by the right, and possibly the majority of Americans who oppose race-based college admissions, because the one true systemic racism system in the US has been abolished.

The left doesn’t see it that way, however. They view it as a major setback for a truly color-blind society. Even though the Supreme Court argued that affirmative action does just the opposite.

Take activist and MSNBC commentator Al Sharpton, for example, who said the decision “is tantamount to sticking a dagger in our back.”

Others, like Princeton professor Eddie Glaude, warn that the decision will lead to a “segregated higher education landscape.”

All of this freak-out and uproar is rich considering Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas wrote about how this decision will be a step forward for America; helping the nation move towards a more perfect union.

One that lives up to its promise, despite past racism.

“While I am painfully aware of the social and economic ravages which have befallen my race and all who suffer discrimination, I hold out enduring hope that this country will live up to its principles so clearly enunciated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States: that all men are created equal, are equal citizens, and must be treated equally before the law,” he said.

Former President Donald Trump, on the other hand, has praised the ruling. Dubbing Thursday “a great day for America.”
