Lobbyists Beg for Federal Government to Dole Out More Funding for Digital ID

The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) has recently pushed for additional money to be allocated towards digital public infrastructure (DPI) which includes one of its key elements, digital ID.
Currently, DPI projects can rely on $400 million by the end of the 2020s. These figures are what “stakeholders” have already ponied up to “the cause.”
In effect, DIAL is calling for money to be constantly spent on promotion of its mission through “trustworthy” messengers such as civil society organizations, academic figures, etc.
As Didi Rankovic of Reclaim the Net noted, the director of USAI is sitting on the DIAL board, an organization that gained notoriety for its participation in building the digital ID system in Ukraine. On top of that, the president and CEO of the UN Foundation and a Gates Foundation senior adviser are sitting on this same board.
DIAL ultimately desires that this financing be “sustainable,” and asserts that not only businesses and economies, but also individuals would benefit from this steady flow of dollars directed towards digital ID systems.
Rankovic noted that DIAL is “probing” and crafting its comments based on a report drawn up in Sierra Leone in Africa, and other regions, whereas those “interviewed” are 25 organizations and entities.
Representatives from the Gates Foundation, UN’s UNDP agency, the World Bank, and the Africa Digital Rights Hub were interviewed.
Further, DIAL wants additional money spent on coordination among ministries ministries, while “communities need to be engaged early on, particularly those that are more likely to be excluded,” the report stated.
DIAL stated that it is centered around building “a positive digital future for everyone, everywhere.” Despite the innocuous marketing, digital IDs are just the latest technocratic scheme used to undermine the rights of lawful individuals in the Collective West.
Arguments for making things more efficient and streamlined, should be ignored. What’s at stake here is the very existence of fundamental rights that were once categorically respected by people of all economic and class strata.
That’s changing, however, all thanks to the rise of a hostile ruling class that cares little about the country’s foundational principles.
