Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again: White House Plans Executive Order to Have Federal Buildings Built by Classical Standards

According to a report from Paul Joseph Watson, the White House is planning to issue an executive order that would mandate that all federal buildings be built according to classical architectural style.

The Architectural Record was able to get its hands on a draft of the order, titled ‘Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again’, under which “the White House would require rewriting the Guiding Principles for Federal Architecture, issued in 1962, to ensure that ‘the classical architectural style shall be the preferred and default style’” for new federal buildings and those going through upgrades.

The order would break away from current standards which favor Brutalist and Deconstructivist styles that the General Service Administration’s (GSA) Design Excellence Program generally pushes for. Instead, under this new executive order, architectural styles of “democratic Athens” and “republican Rome” would be favored.

The executive order singles out certain brutalist building structures such as the U.S. Federal Building in San Francisco, the U.S. Courthouse in Austin, Texas, and the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. U.S. Courthouse in Miami for having “little aesthetic appeal.”

In the draft order, it makes the claim that Brutalist and Deconstructivist styles “fail to satisfy” building design requirements that usually embody “dignity, enterprise, vigor and stability.”

Curiously, GSA’s Chief Architect and Director of the Design Excellence Program, David Insinga, resigned last week. This executive order plan may have been a motivating factor behind Insinga’s resignation.

On the other hand, Watson noted that the “European Union is taking the opposite approach, with the globalist body set to enforce regulations that make historic rebuilding illegal.”

“When new parts/elements are necessary, a project shall use contemporary design adding new value and/or use while respecting the existing ones,” a new EU directive highlighted.

This executive order represents a solid victory against political correctness culture.

Classic traditions are often labeled as “racist” or “backwards” by progressive elites.

However, it was the classic civilizations of Greece and Rome that helped lay the groundwork for the success of the modern-day West.

Any kind of policy that can restore the classics back to where they rightfully belong in the public conscious is a big win for society.
