Massachusetts Democrats Call for Licensed Concealed Carriers to Request Permission Prior to Entering a Home While Armed
Towards the middle of October the Massachusetts State House took up legislation that would mandate concealed carriers to request for permission before entering an individual’s home while they’re armed.
This bill would also strengthen many of the state government’s already strict gun control measures.
Massachusetts is one of the most anti-gun jurisdictions in the country, with it being ranked in 47th place according to Guns & Ammo best states for gun owners rankings. In a similar vein, the Michael Bloomberg funded Everytown for Gun Safety currently places Massachusetts 6th place in the nation for the strength of its gun control laws.
Mass.gov highlights the current set of gun control measures include a license to carry requirement, a license for firearms ownership requirement (Firearms Identification Card or FID), gun storage laws which mandate that “all guns must be stored in a locked container or equipped with a tamper-resistant mechanical lock or other safety device,” and a license mandate in order to buy ammunition.
AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News also noted that Massachusetts has a red flag law, an “assault weapons” prohibition and “high capacity” magazine ban, which applies to firearms not legally owned before September 13, 1994, per Giffords.
According to a Boston Herald report, legislation sponsored by State Representative Michael Day would “require licensed concealed carry holders to secure permission before entering another’s home with a firearm.” It would also mandate additional training for individuals wishing to acquire a carry permit and would broaden the number and type of firearms prohibited under the auspices of the “assault weapons” prohibition.
The legislation broadens the state’s red flag law by increasing the number of people who are looking for a court order to have an individual’s guns seized and it broadens the state’s firearms registration requirements.
This is Massachusetts for you. Blue states have become completely hostile to gun rights in America. In fact, there’s zero chance for gun rights to ever be improved in these areas.
Blue state gun owners either nullify and effectively ignore gun control passed at the state level or they have to leave for greener pastures in red states.
