Rep. Steve King (R-IA), the “America First” lawmaker who has stood the strongest behind President Donald Trump since his election, has been attacked mercilessly by the fake news over the past year, as they hope to kick the top Trump advocate out of the U.S. House in the 2020 election.
However, it seems like those attacks have fallen flat, according to a new poll conducted by G1 Survey Research that was released on Monday. The fake news has done little to slow down King’s momentum, and he holds a commanding lead over his declared intra-party challengers.
A new poll shows me beating my 4 primary opponents 59% to their combined 23%! Thank you 4th District Rs! You’ve seen through the NY Times #FakeNews attacks on me and the attacks on @RealDonaldTrump. Annoy the times: re-elect King and Trump. #MAGA
— Steve King (@SteveKingIA) October 7, 2019
King has a 44 point lead over the second-place candidate in the 4th District Republican Congressional primary, state senator Randy Feenstra, who has emerged opportunistically as his opponent following the launch of a coordinated smear campaign to paint King as a racist and a white nationalist.
The poll also shows that 74 percent of voters side with King following his alleged statements in the New York Times, which caused Congressional Republicans to join Democrats and throw him under the bus with a censure vote. Only 15 percent of Iowa voters take the media’s side, showing what little credibility they have in the Heartland.
“White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization—how did that language become offensive?” King said, in a quote that was taken out of context. “Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”
King boasts a 72 percent approval rating among voters, according to the poll. His staunchly pro-life, pro-wall stances have earned him the respect of the people, and the fact that he is a common target of the fake news media only seems to further enhance his already impressive record.
“These poll results mirror what I am seeing on the ground,” Rep. King said in a press release about the poll. “Republicans in the 4th District are overwhelmingly choosing to stand with me as the only proven and tested conservative in this race. Voters know where I stand, they know I tell them the unflinching truth, and they know my record of effectively advancing our shared Iowa values in Congress.”
“Conservatives understand that President Trump needs consistent allies like me to fight off an illegitimate impeachment effort fueled by Fake News media narratives. These impressive poll results show I am the only candidate they trust to boldly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump in the face of the constant barrage of attacks from Democrats and their Never Trump, open-borders allies,” he added.
King is in this fight for the long haul and appears emboldened by the amount of flak he has taken as a result of standing for the MAGA agenda. He intends to fight for Western values until his dying breath.
“Iowa voters are clearly wise to the Leftist media’s smear tactics. They know I am a target for supporting President Trump’s ‘America-First’ agenda. They can’t stand the thought of allowing pro-America, pro-borders, pro-Ag, pro-Life, pro-Rule of Law, pro-Western Civilization elected officials to stay in office because they are representing mainstream, common sense, America loving citizens. The political establishment is in a frenzy to defeat our campaign in the 2020 primary, but this poll overwhelmingly demonstrates our rock solid support in the district,” King said.
While establishment Republicans, anti-American Democrats, and fake news hacks may have been quick to eulogize King’s political career following a year of bad headlines, it appears that rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
CNN Pretty Boy Don Lemon Lumps All Trump Voters Together with Klansmen and Neo-Nazis in Vicious Rant
How on earth does this man have his own TV show?
On CNN Wednesday night, Don Lemon disparaged every single Trump voter by saying that they’re part of the same crowd as Klansmen and neo-Nazis.
In the transition from his show to Lemon’s, Chris Cuomo posed to Lemon a devil’s advocate position that “you can’t say everybody who voted for Trump is like the people who who went into the Capitol.” Lemon responded thus:
“If you are on that side, you need to think about the side you’re on. I’m never on the side of the Klan. Principled people, conservative or liberal, never on the Klan side. Principled people, conservative or liberal, never on the Nazi side. Principled people who are conservative or liberal, never on the side that treats their fellow Americans as ‘less than,’ that says that your fellow Americans should not exist, that says your fellow Americans should be in a concentration camp, or that sides with slavery, or sides with any sort of bigotry.”
Cuomo jumps in to continue playing devil’s advocate: “And if they say, ‘I don’t agree with those people, I just like Trump’s policies’?”
“Then get out the crowd with them,” Lemon says. “Get out of the crowd.”
Cuomo then retorts, again pretending to represent the other side: “‘I wasn’t in the crowd, I just voted for Trump.'”
Lemon replied: “You’re in the crowd who voted for Trump. If you voted for Trump, you voted for the person who the Klan supported. You voted for the person who Nazis support. You voted for the person who the alt-right supports. That’s the crowd you are in. You voted for the person who incited a crowd to go into the Capitol and potentially take the lives of lawmakers, took the lives of police officers, took the innocent lives who were there on the Capitol that day. You voted on that side. And the people in Washington are continuing to vote on that side.”
Quite the incoherent rant, don’t you think? For one, Klansmen and neo-Nazis are by and large not Trump supporters. Even if some were at one point, they were among the quickest to turn on Trump, for they realized that he was not and was never going to be Hitler 2.0. Plus, none of those who breached the Capitol were found to be members of the Klan or a neo-Nazi group. So there goes the thrust of Lemon’s argument.
Lemon also claims, without evidence, that Trump “incited” violence and encouraged his supporters to breach the Capitol. Even if you disapprove of Trump’s rhetoric, you cannot admit in good faith that he incited or encouraged any illegal activity.
Someone like Lemon should not be on TV. He is extraordinarily divisive and full of contempt for 75 million Americans.
