Michigan Supreme Court Allows Trump To Stay On 2024 Primary Ballot
On December 27, 2023 the Michigan Supreme Court let former President Donald Trump stay on the state’s Republican presidential primary ballot after it refused to hear an appeal to have him removed from the ballot.
The court stated in a brief order that it rejected the appeal due to how it was “not persuaded that the questions presented should be reviewed by this Court.”
Trump praised the decision in a post he published on December 27 on Truth Social: “The Michigan Supreme Court has strongly and rightfully denied the Desperate Democrat attempt to take the leading Candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election, me, off the ballot in the Great State of Michigan.”
The Colorado Supreme Court recently removed Trump from the state’s primary ballot, alluding to the US Constitution’s insurrection clause that bans individuals who participated in an insurrection against the country from holding federal office. Trump vowed to appeal the ruling to the US Supreme Court.
Such schemes to kick Trump off the ballot are the next phase of the cultural Left’s efforts to turn the US into a Banana Republic polity. These must be opposed at all costs if we want to preserve any semblance of Republican governance in the US.
We no longer live in a rational, persuasion-based society. Now, more than ever, courageous patriots must step up and defend our rights no matter the cost.
