Mike Pence to West Point Graduates: Expect Combat!

On Saturday, Vice President Mike Pence told the 2019 West Point graduating class that the world is a “dangerous place” and that graduates should expect to be involved in combat in the near future.

Pence said that some of the graduates will “join the fight against radical Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq. At the moment, the U.S. is getting ready to send thousands of troops to the Middle East in response to growing tensions with Iran.

Pence declared that President Trump “”will always have your back” in potential clashes abroad. The Vice President also revealed that Trump proposed the largest defense budget in American history in order for the U.S. to embrace its “role as the leader of the free world.

Pence’s statement comes in the midst of U.S. escalation in the Middle East and recent saber-rattling in Venezuela.

Despite neoconservative activity in Trump’s administration, President Trump has stuck to his America First foreign policy.
