Mitch McConnell Will Police Pro-MAGA Candidates for ‘Electability,’ Despite Blowing Two Senate Seats in Georgia Last Month

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is preparing to go to war with former president Donald Trump over control of the Republican Party in the years to come.

McConnell is suggesting that he will destroy pro-MAGA candidates to emerge over the next election cycle, claiming that he will be vetting all of them for “electability” concerns.

“My goal is, in every way possible, to have nominees representing the Republican Party who can win in November,” McConnell said. “Some of them may be people the former president likes. Some of them may not be. The only thing I care about is electability.”

“I’m not predicting the president would support people who couldn’t win. But I do think electability — not who supports who — is the critical point,” he added.

McConnell is extremely delusional about the state of his political party, which is collapsing after Republican leaders largely refused to investigate voter fraud claims and allowed Democrats to steal the nation without putting up much of a fight.

“The difference between now and 2009 is the difference between 40 and 50,” he said. “I was there in 2009. I know what it looks like after you got clobbered. We didn’t get clobbered. We lost the White House.”

McConnell’s political wisdom resulted in the loss of two winnable Georgia Senate seats last month. He decided that rubber-stamping voter fraud, coronating President-imposed Biden, playing games with stimulus funds, and publicly opposing President Trump was a recipe for success.

McConnell has doubled down on his failure by blasting Trump further and actually making the case for the Democrats against the former president even though he lacked the courage to actually vote to impeach him.

Big League Politics reported on McConnell’s betrayal during the end of the unlawful impeachment farce:

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) excoriated President Donald Trump on Saturday, implying that Trump will be getting prosecuted for his presidential behavior, despite voting to acquit Trump in the illegal impeachment trial.

“This was an intensifying crescendo of conspiracy theories orchestrated by an outgoing president who seemed determined to either overturn the voters’ decision or else torch our institutions on the way out,” McConnell said, spitting in the faces of thousands of conservatives who witnessed first-hand fraud on election day.

“There is no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day,” he continued.

“These criminals were carrying his banners, hanging his flags and screaming their loyalty to him,” he added.

McConnell is echoing Democrat talking points referring to Republicans as criminals and terrorists.

“Having that belief,” McConnell said, “was a foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo of false statements, conspiracy theories and reckless hyperbole which the defeated president kept shouting into the largest megaphone on planet earth.”

“They did this,” he added, “because they’d been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth, because he was angry he lost an election.”

McConnell even made a comment expressing sympathy with prosecuting Trump for actions taken during his presidency and said he probably would have voted to impeach if Trump were still the president.

“If President Trump were still in office,” he said, “I would have carefully considered whether the House managers proved their specific charge.”

McConnell will be lucky if he is not run out of town on a rail, or worse, by his own constituents for betraying his party and his nation.
