Mitch McConnell's Senate Leadership Fund Pulls $10 Million Out of Arizona to Sabotage Blake Masters

The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), under the influence of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), is pulling $9.6 million in funds from candidate Blake Masters in Arizona.

It is hoped that other super PACs and organizations will pick up the slack after McConnell’s betrayal of the populist, America First senate contender. Some are already stepping up, such as the Sentinel Action Fund, which is affiliated with Heritage Action and will be spending $3.5 million on television ads and an additional $1.5 million on outreach to voters. A super PAC founded by right-wing tech mogul Peter Thiel is spending $1.68 million to help Masters as well.

“We’re glad to see Republican outside forces showing up in a big way in Arizona, with millions in new spending pledged to take down Mark Kelly in the final stretch,” SLF President Steven Law said to Axios.

“This allows us to pursue offensive opportunities, maximize our investment in existing commitments, and concentrate our efforts to win the Senate majority,” Law said of the SLF’s decision to shift the Arizona’s funds to Georgia, New Hampshire and Nevada instead.

“Former President Donald Trump recently ripped Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell for his perceived inability to fire up Republican voters ahead of the 2022 midterm elections set to take place on November 8, 2022.

In a post he published on Truth Social, Trump stated that the Senate Minority Leader should dedicate more time and resources towards getting Republican candidates elected in the Senate. There have been rumors that Republicans could potentially underperform in the Senate, despite historical trends pointing to the party outside of the White House usually picking up seats during the midterms.

“Why do Republicans Senators allow a broken down hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard-working Republican candidates for the United States Senate,” Trump inquired.

The former president is not confident in McConnell’s ability to push Senators over the finish line in November, which is why he’s lashing out.

On August 18, McConnell conceded that Republicans face an uphill struggle in capturing the Senate. McConnell alluded to “candidate quality” as the reason why he’s not very bullish about the GOP’s electoral prospects in the Senate for the 2022 midterm cycle.

While polls should not always be trusted, there are signs that Senate seats in key states will be more competitive than expected, especially in a year that Republicans are expected to be a shoe-in for picking up seats in both chambers of Congress.

The former president and the Senate Minority Leader have been at each other’s throats ever since the conclusion of the 2020 elections. McConnell initially accepted Joe Biden’s installation as President, despite widespread allegations of voter irregularities. On top of that, McConnell accused Trump of being “practically and morally responsible” for the January 6 storming of the Capitol. ”

Masters and other populist candidates will have to defeat the Democrats as well as the RINO establishment to get into elected office. They have a great chance of doing so and going into Washington D.C. with the sole mandate of draining the swamp.
