An unruly mob of Philadelphia youths decided to celebrate the July 4th weekend in an unconventional fashion- by mobbing an area Walgreens, leaving a path of destruction in their wake as they shoplifted store merchandise and attacked employees of the establishment.
About 60 people rushed through the entrance of the Philly store at 10PM on the holiday, leaving staff woefully unequipped to counter the gang of riotous youths intent on taking whatever they pleased.
On surveillance camera footage, the mob could be seen wantonly destroying and throwing merchandise- some of it at Walgreens employees who tried to stop the devastation the flash mob seemed intent on inflicting on their place of business.
The Philadelphia Police described the robbery as taking place at 1800 South Street.
Authorities are said to be searching for suspects, but it’s difficult to make arrests in incidents involving a full-scale mob. The riotous youths accordingly knew to use strength in numbers, making it difficult for Walgreens employees or the Philadelphia Police to stop them from thoroughly trashing a medium-sized retail store.
Bystanders were powerless to stop the criminals in their rampage, forced to stand by impotently as merchandise was trashed, stolen, and thrown at employees.
To most, the Fourth of July represents an opportunity to celebrate the nation’s founding peacefully with friends, family, and neighbors.
Unfortunately, a riotous gang of Philadelphia teens had very different plans in mind, taking advantage of the national holiday to amass a large group intent on committing criminal acts.
Another rampaging mob- of the Antifa variety- was seen burning American flags in front of the White House in Washington D.C. on the Fourth.
Governor Gregg Abbott Recalls Texas National Guard from DC After Troops Housed in Parking Lot
Abbott had decided the troops were disrespected.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the commander of the Texas National Guard to return a detachment of troops sent from the state for the Washington DC Inauguration, following reports that troops had been kicked out of housing inside the Capitol to a parking lot.
I have instructed General Norris to order the return of the Texas National Guard to our state. @TexasGuard

As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi ultimately agreed to the lodging of the troops at the Capitol. The troops were previously seen housed inside a great lobby, and were booted out sometime after Wednesday.
The parking lot represents the second slight of Guardsmen present for security duties at the Inauguration. Previous reports had suggested that every single one of the soldiers, who numbered in the tens of thousands, were being probed by the FBI for any connection to conservative ideology. Twelve service members were sent home, although it’s totally unclear for what reasons. A background investigation into the troops may have found a handful with active arrest warrants, without any connection to so-called militias or right-wing extremist organizations.
Governor Abbott had previously expressed displeasure upon learning that men and women of the Texas National Guard were being probed for political loyalty to the Biden government.
This is the most offensive thing I've ever heard.
No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard. @TexasGuard
I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC.
I'll never do it again if they are disrespected like this.https://t.co/STZDMz7PGm

Guardsmen who described being evicted to the parking lot as DC weather approaches freezing temperatures, described feeling “betrayed,” revealing they weren’t told why they were required to lodge outside the confines of the Capitol building.
Congressman Madison Cawthorn arrived at the congressional parking lot to deliver food to the troops garrisoned there sometime Thursday night.
I just visited the solders who have been abandoned & insulted by our leaders. I brought them pizza and told them that they can sleep in my office.
No soldier will ever, ever sleep on a garage floor in the US Capitol while I work in Congress
