Mother of Deceased Capitol Officer Brian Sicknick Suspects He Had a Stroke

The mother of deceased Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick suspects that her son had a stroke after the fateful January 6th protest and riot.

74-year old Gladys Sicknick told the Daily Mail that the family still doesn’t know exactly what happened, but that Officer Sicknick was not struck on the head with a fire extinguish, contrary to false reports.

He wasn’t hit on the head, no. We think he had a stroke, but we don’t know anything for sure.

We’d love to know what happened.

The New York Times had falsely reported that Sicknick died after being struck on the head with a fire extinguisher, later going on to quietly retract reporting that had described the 42-year old police officer’s death as a homicide.

House Democrats had also falsely repeated information claiming Sicknick died after a physical assault in articles of impeachment, declining to correct their dramatically false accusation after President Trump was acquitted.

Investigators looking into the January 6th event are reportedly questioning if Sicknick suffered from an adverse medical reaction in response to chemical agents used at the riot such as bear spray. However, it’s all speculation, with little to no authoritative information released to the public on the nature of the death. Sicknick had texted his brother confirming that he was alright after the event, going on to collapse at a Capitol Police facility. He would be placed on a ventilator at a hospital and would die the next day.

Officer Sicknick’s death represents a profound tragedy regardless of its circumstances. The National Guard veteran was known as a Donald Trump supporter, and the nature of his untimely death needs to be investigated objectively, not politically.

It hasn’t helped, no,” said Sicknick’s mother of the flurry of speculation regarding his death. “It’s very hard not knowing [what happened] but we have to wait for a finding just like everybody else.
