MSNBC’s Neoliberal Velshi Pushes For American Military Intervention

On Sunday, Ali Velshi a Neoliberal MSNBC commentator urged NATO to get involved in stopping Russian President Vladimir Putin from engaging in “crimes against humanity” in Ukraine.
Velshi, the war hawk proceeded to urge everyone to do more than sanction and issue “strongly-worded condemnations” against Russia. He wondered, “what is the point” of alliances like the United Nations and NATO “if not to stop this.” One can’t help but wonder will Velshi be signing up to fight should his advice lead to World War Three?
“We are past the point of sanctions and strongly-worded condemnations and the seizing of oligarchs’ mega-yachts,” Velshi outlined. “It is no longer sufficient as the evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity continue to grow. Vladimir Putin has no regard for life or humanity or even the rules of war.” Having criticized The West’s response to this conflict one was left wondering what is Velshi suggesting? The answer came over the weekend on twitter. Like many Neoliberals and Neoconservatives Velshi wants American military intervention or in his words “direct military involvement”.
Neoliberals and Neoconservatives alike are willing to risk World War Three with a nuclear armed nation for a cause that is not in the direct national interest. MSNBC has shown that they are beating the war drums and rather than promote peace and reconciliation they would rather pine for war. National Populists and National conservatives prefer a more realist approach to foreign policy. Velshi wants something far different.
